Progress Report Grading Period 3 Ends on March 4th

Next Friday, March 4th is the end of the Progress Report 3 (P3) grading period. Teachers will post grades the following week to be available via PowerSchool on Friday, March 11th. These grades are a formative progress report and do not represent a final summative semester grade. The final summative grading period for semester 2 closes on June 14th.

LAST CHANCE: SUMMER ACADEMIC PROGRAM

The deadline for priority registration for Level Up Summer School is Monday, February 28th. Correia will be hosting Level Up this summer 2022!


The 2022 Summer/ESY morning academic program is open to ALL students:

  • The enrollment/registration process will be handled CENTRALLY
  • The enrollment/registration submission window begins Tuesday, February 1, 2022 and ends Monday, February 28, 2022
  • Any enrollment requests after the enrollment window closes will be waitlisted

A centralized message about the 2022 Level Up SD Summer Academic program enrollment/registration process will go out to ALL families on Tuesday, February 1, 2022

Morning student drop off parent situations

There have been numerous community complaints about the disregard of traffic control and safety...stop signs, parking in red zones, illegal u-turns, etc. Some of the incidents have escalated into adult/parent altercations. Please ensure the safety of our students by following all traffic laws and please be safe.


Please ensure your student exits your vehicle on the right and uses the sidewalk to cross at the crosswalk...not in the middle of the street. Please do not stop in the red zone in front of the school or in the middle of the street. Please no u-turns in the cross-section!

Food Deliveries

We are starting to see an increased number of food deliveries in the main office. We ask for your cooperation in limiting food deliveries. Please plan ahead with your student to bring a lunch.


We do not accept deliveries from 3rd party food delivery services...such as Grub Hub, Uber Eats, etc.

Student Dress

As the Spring and Summer months are approaching we want to remind students about appropriate school attire. We are currently working with students to update the dress code to an equitable, non-gender bias, age-appropriate, and academic-focused format. We will have updates soon regarding the dress code, but in the meantime discuss student attire with your student.

Masks Not Required Outside

On Tuesday, February 15th, SDUSD announced that masks are no longer required outside while on campus. See this Link: Update on the Use of Masks for the details. Students and staff are still required to wear a mask while indoors.

Semester 2 Tardy Policy

During Semester 2 we will be monitoring period tardies. Students are expected to be to each class on time and ready to learn. If students receive more than four tardies during Semester 2 they will be required to clear them in order to get in good standing. We will begin Friday School on February 25. One tardy accounts for 15 minutes of time.


We will be monitoring Periods 2 - 7 tardies. Excessive tardies are also reflective in citizenship grades and may impact one's ability to participate in end of the year activities. Please review your student's tardies in Powerschool.


Next Friday School is March 4th.

PE sweatshirts/sweatpants

We have finally received PE sweatshirts and sweatpants. Sweatshirts are $16, and sweatpants are $14.

Student Mental Health Support

I am excited to announce that with district support, we were able to get a mental health specialist who will be onsite 2-3 days per week to support students. We will share out mental health specialist with Dana Middle School. Student referrals will go through our counseling staff.

CAUGHT BEING AWESOME

The staff at Correia enjoys recognizing positive student behavior and accomplishments. Staff recognizes students by distributing Caught Being Awesome cards. Names of students receiving cards are then submitted for our weekly raffle. Weekly winners are recognized by a gift card that is supported by the Correia Association.

Cal-SOAP is offering a series of free online "College: Make It Happen" events. Middle school students (grades 6-8) and families are welcome to join any of the webinars (2/28, 3/16, 4/14, 5/18), families can choose a date that works for them.
