When you’re ready to turn on Guided Access, make sure the iPad is in the app you want the student to use. Let's say we want our student to watch a you tube video of The Rainbow Fish... Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbKr-k1PTvA and open it in you tube or safari. (you could also search you tube for Rainbow Fish).
Once you're ready to turn on Guided Access, "Triple-Click" the Home button.
If an Accessibility Options Menu appears, select “Guided Access”.
Setting Up Guided Access Options for Session
If you want to disable any area of the screen; use your finger to draw a freehand circle around any areas you wish to disable. Toggle any other desired selections available at the bottom of the screen (“Hardware Button Options”, “Touch”, “Keyboards”, “Time Limits” and “Motion”)
Click “Start”.
To exit Guided Access Triple-Click the Home button. If the “Accessibility Options Menu” appears click “Guided Access”.
When prompted enter passcode or use Touch ID.
