NHS is selling Valentine's Day carnations - Buy Today

Each carnation is $2 and the profits will be used to purchase items needed by the organization voted on by students who purchase carnations (profits will go to organization with the most votes).

Fill out this order form that was emailed to PHS students to secure your flowers by Friday, February 4th. Please ensure that your flowers ($2 per flower) are paid for at the School Store no later than the 4th. Only orders paid in full will be placed with Hy-Vee. Flower deliveries will occur on Friday, February 11th!

Please take time to look through the PHS Program of Studies to make the best course choices for you and your path to graduation and beyond - see the schedule below for specific information dates. Contact your counselor with questions.


Last call for Senior photos - If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the yearbook advisor Ms. Bennett at rachelbennett@crprairie.org.


A quick reminder of the adjustment to the PHS school start and end time beginning next Monday, February 7 for the remainder of this school year. The PHS school day will be 9:15am - 4:00pm daily. Please refer to the CCSD notification for additional information.

The state of Iowa the Seal of Bi-Literacy is important because:


Being able to know and use more than one language is a critical skill for the 21st century.

The Seal of Bi-Literacy:

  • Values language as an asset
  • Recognizes the value of language diversity and cultural identity
  • Prepares students with 21st century skills that will benefit them in the labor market and the global society
  • Provides employers, universities, and grant/scholarship providers with a method to recognize applicants for their dedication to attainment of bi-literacy


Student can earn this Seal of Bi-Literacy by being proficient of the AAPL exam, this proficiency will earn graduates a Seal of Bi-Literacy on their diploma.

The PHS Assignment Page is a single-stop reference for students and families to stay up to date on what is happening in all classrooms. On the PHS Assignment Page teachers provide a weekly update of daily assignments, long-term assignments and projects, and upcoming assessments.

The Summer 2022 internship portal opens Dec. 13, 2021 through Feb. 4, 2022, for current high school sophomores and juniors. Internships are 45 – 90 hours in length and students may be able to earn high school credit.
