Highlights to Help Focus Your Week of Aug. 12 - 16, 2019
Your First Day with Students
Tomorrow is your first opportunity to inspire your students and set the tone for the year. Embrace it!!! You are each amazing educators with gifts that are unmatched across this district. I am so excited to begin this year together!
ATTENDANCE COMPLETED & SENT TO THE OFFICE BY 9:30 AM!
First Day of School Plans
The 'tentative agenda' for the day has been placed in your mailbox, along with an updated roster with phone number extensions. Please be sure to review this 'agenda,' and don't hesitate to reach out with ANY questions. This document is also attached to your email, in case you'd prefer to review it tonight. :)
Dismissal Spreadsheet
I recently shared the online excel spreadsheet for our 2019-2020 dismissal process for students. Please remember to NOT edit student names, ID numbers, or any demographic information. You are only asked to enter dismissal arrangements for your students. We have been instructed to notify our Region Superintendents by noon that our spreadsheets are complete, and we are prepared for dismissal. If you need a student added, please email Ms. Gray. The shared link is included below, as well, for your convenience.
Email Attachments
You will have multiple attachments in this email for your convenience. Each of these beginning of the year documents are included in our Teams page under "Files."
* Emergency Sub Plans - due to Ms. Pipkin by next Friday, Aug. 23rd. ALL staff are expected to submit emergency sub plans.
* Email from Dr. Kriznar, Deputy Superintendent, that was received by all on Friday. You are challenged to take a moment this week and make a list of your points of pride. Review this attachment and my notes at your convenience this week.
* First Day of School Agenda, as mentioned above, for your information purposes.
* Dyslexia Weekly Briefing Info reminder
Breakfast in the Classroom
As a friendly reminder, you will begin Breakfast in the Classroom tomorrow. :) Following the new teacher training last week for the program, here are a few reminders for those you who are familiar with the program:
* Do not present the breakfast out at each desk in your classroom. Students must be offered and choose to get breakfast. They also must choose ALL items, if they choose to take breakfast.
* A share table can be used through your breakfast service for items students may not wish to eat. However, students who don't choose to get breakfast cannot then choose from the share table.
* ALL food distributed must be thrown away following breakfast service. Any items NOT distributed are to remain in the cooler and returned. NO items can be kept for throughout the day...even things like an apple or orange.
* Student rosters will not be updated until Friday for next Monday. Any new students will need to added at the bottom of your breakfast folder roster.
Dyslexia Training
Just a friendly reminder, we have to complete the dyslexia course by the end of September. The course is loaded in Blackboard. I have attached the weekly briefing reminder to the email for your convenience.
