What We're Learning This Week

Word Study: We will review all of our root words from this quarter with a summative word study test on Friday. Students will receive a study guide on Monday, but it covers all of the roots that we have studied so far. Use the Root Word Review set on Quizlet to study.

Writing: We are continuing our study of opinion writing. We will focus on the structure and using transition words this week.

Reading: This week, we will continue our study of figurative language. Students will learn about hyperbole, idiom, onomatopoeia, personification, and alliteration. We will take a DG over just similes and metaphors on Wednesday.

Ms. Hernandez's Math, Social Studies, and Science Class:

Math: We will have a test on multiplication and division of whole numbers Monday and then begin Decimals.

Science: We will have Classification test on Tuesday and begin studying Inherited traits & learned behaviors.
