HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week 6 - 8 June
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Those of us who were at the Musica Viva Concerts on Thursday had a fabulous time! Adam Hall and his band were on fire! It was great! What a culmination to a great ten weeks of work by Michelle Kirwan who taught the children Adam’s songs. Thank you Michelle and thank you Adam Hall and the Band!
Cross Country is on Monday. It looks like perfect Cross Country weather!
We look forward to your company at the Year Five Catherine assembly on Friday.
Have a great weekend
Mark de Kluyver

FAQ IS BACK!
Following the survey undertaken by our Holy Rosary Community (HRC) last year, which asked what parents and guardians might see as priorities for them for 2018, there was discussion at HRC meetings that some were more in the domain of the school, and that it would be best for the school rather than the HRC to respond. Most have been addressed, and just the updates now will be found here, and left in for a fortnight.
More sport – clubs before/after school. Many already exist, and are evident through the newsletter. Several are run by parents from Holy Rosary. Also, Rob Flexman, our teacher of Physical Education runs training sessions before interschool events, including arranging swimming training during the holidays. As children get a bit older the opportunities broaden. Rob also takes advantage of funding opportunities to run sessions in sport time. The programme here is rich and varied. This week alone we see soccer, lacrosse and netball expert coaches working with Rob and our children. And.... Running Club started this week!

The Family Businesses of Holy Rosary
As a Parent Community we would love to see a culture of thinking Holy Rosary first! Please have a look through the directory to see what these businesses might be able to do for you. If you would like to be listed please contact Mark Nolan at email@example.com
“Our Business Directory is full of school families who do amazing (and practical) things. This week we focus on well-being by featuring two businesses that can make you feel good from head to toes, literally.”
APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT PARISH PRIEST
Father Peter and parishioners extend their congratulations and a very warm welcome to Fr Chinh Dinh OP who has been appointed by Archbishop Timothy Costelloe as our Assistant Parish Priest.
Joyce Wong has been organising and arranging the wonderful floral arrangements in the church for many years. If you could assist Joyce in this task please contact her on 9446 2098 or phone Kaye on 0411 123 441
For more than 40 years the Altar Society has worked behind the scenes to keep the inside of the church clean and tidy. The volunteers work in rostered groups, currently on a rotation of seven weeks, to undertake dusting, replenishment of holy water and general tidying up, such as sorting hymn books. The work is usually performed by three or four people on a Friday.
If you would like to join these wonderful ladies, please contact Kaye on 0411 123 441 or email firstname.lastname@example.org The new roster is now available on the table at the back of the church.
If any young people are interested in becoming Altar Servers, please contact Fr Chinh on 0411 381 334 or on his email: email@example.com. Fr Chinh will provide the necessary training to ensure the candidates feel confident in carrying out this role.
Sunday 27 May was a fantastic night for the youth in our parish as they gathered to celebrate mass at 5:30pm on the Feast of the Holy Trinity. We were fortunate enough to have Joey Alexander lead us in the music and many different families across the parish support the evening. A big thank you to Fr. Peter and we look forward to seeing you at the next mass on 24 June. If you or a young person in your family are interested in having an active role in the masses which take place on the last Sunday of each month, please email Simon Martino at firstname.lastname@example.org
