Reminder - Reporting Absences
County policy is to notify administration when you will be absent.
Unplanned Absences: Staff MUST call, text or email me or Sherry to report the absence.
Reporting to Amanda is not reporting to admin. Please also copy Amanda on the text/emails so she can get you a sub.
Day of /night before absences:
- After 8:00 pm-email Cissi/Sherry/Amanda and put in AESOP to report the absence. **Please note time change**
- Before 6:00 am-email Cissi/Sherry/Amanda and put in AESOP to report the absence.
- Do not text/call after 8:00 pm or before 6:00 am.
- After 6:00 am you can text all of us, but you will still need to put in the system to find a sub.
Planned absences
- ROA can be turned into Amanda when it’s at least one day prior. She will communicate those absences with admin.
- Many of you are not turning in these forms. They must be completed the day you return to school if it was not planned.
- PL days paid by district still require a ROA form.

Library Learning Commons EOY Dates
On Testing Days: No morning checkout until after testing complete that day – including before school.
Friday, May 3 Last Day for Library Lessons *limited lessons during Milestone testing
Tuesday, May 7 Last Day for Student Checkout
*Students with overdue books will not be allowed to check-out additional books.
Monday, May 13 Student Books Due
Staff receives list of books checked out. Please locate the books in your classroom and/or ask students to check for them at home (if taken to their home by mistake). Please return anything that you are no longer using.
May 14-May 20 Students pay for lost books.
Tuesday, May 22 & 23 Staff Books Due (or renewed for the summer)
EOY Portraits for Kindergarten and 5th Grade
GCI Portraits is offering new photo packages for Kindergarten and 5th Grade Students. Information was shared with families on 4/17. Pictures will be on Tuesday 4/30 in the Star Lab.
(PK-12) Updates to CTLS for Students and Teachers
Your staff and students will notice some exciting enhancements when they login to CTLS next week. The following features are scheduled to roll out over the weekend of April 19-21, 2024.

Academic News
(K-12) Georgia Elementary Science Olympiad The Georgia Elementary Science Olympiad will be held at Kennesaw State University on May 4, 2024. The top 64 teams from around the state will be competing and showing off their science knowledge. We are looking for teacher volunteers to help with events on this day. If you have teachers who are interested in volunteering, please have them email Dr. Cali at christian.cali@cobbk12.org. DUE WEST will be there to compete again this year!
(K-12) STEM/STEAM and Innovation Supervisor Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Adam Casey, our newly appointed Supervisor for STEM/STEAM and Innovation. Dr. Casey brings extensive expertise to our team. His background includes ample experience in STEM/STEAM education, both as a teacher and an administrator of STEM/STEAM certified schools. Dr. Casey looks forward to collaborating with and supporting schools beginning June 3, 2024.
(K-12) GaDOE Assessment Update for Teachers
The Spring 2024 GaDOE Assessment Update for Teachers is now available; click here for access. The goal of this newsletter is to share information with teachers about the Georgia Student Assessment Program in order to deepen understanding of the program, its purpose, and its uses.
(K-12) K-12 Math Core Package Summer/Fall Professional Learning
Please share the attached mathematics professional learning flyer with your teachers. This professional learning will provide opportunities to engage in strategies for conceptual understanding, planning with the instructional core package for K-12 mathematics, and deepening the practice of 360 Math Classrooms. The professional learning dates begin in June, 2024.

ESOL Endorsement
The window is open from March 25th to May 6th for teachers applying to the ESOL Endorsement program 2024-25. Classes start 8-27-24 and end 5-6-25. The attached brochure will provide more details about the courses, dates, and a link to the application.
