COVID Vaccine Mandate Expires October 31, 2022

As you may be aware, Governor Inslee has announced that the “... [COVID] vaccination requirements for health care and education workers will end …” October 31, 2022. Beginning November 1, COVID vaccination, exemption, or accommodation will no longer be required for applicants, volunteers, and employees.

“The statewide Face Covering Order issued by the state Department of Health will remain in place for health care settings," which includes school health rooms.

We still follow the K-12 requirements for managing Covid symptoms and isolation requirements in schools and we will continue to provide face coverings for staff, students, and visitors who choose to wear them. COVID tests will also be available, while supplies last, at each site for those who wish to test.

As we continue to navigate the impacts of COVID and other health concerns, we greatly appreciate your ongoing work to put our promise in action, making sure every student is known, valued, and supported.

Community Big Give 2022

Big Give began in 2010 as an act of generosity from Open Life to the families of Liberty Ridge Elementary School with 150 Thanksgiving meals. The Bonney Lake Food Bank saw the potential of bringing all of the Thanksgiving food provision events together as one, so in 2011 the Big Give took on a community-wide focus. In 2012, the Food Bank was no longer able to provide meals during the Thanksgiving Season and invited Open Life to take the lead in coordinating the distribution of Thanksgiving meals to the community. Soon, the Big Give became a region-wide event with new partnerships that included Walmart, dozens of sponsors, as well as the support of the counseling departments in the local School Districts. If you would like to learn more about the Community Big Give, please look at their website.

This year, the Big Give will be on November 19th. If you would like to get involved, please sign up here.
