Mason Gazette
April 28, 2017
Dear Mason Families,
I hope this message finds you enjoying the wonderful weather outside. This Tuesday, May 2nd, we have our Young 5's and Kindergarten transition day at Mason. This is a great opportunity for us to welcome our new families and show them around their new learning environment. Please take this opportunity to converse with your neighbors and friends to see if they have their children registered for Kindergarten or any grade for that matter for the the 2017-18 school year in Grosse Pointe. Normally, we have a lot of families that wait to register towards the end of the summer but we would love to welcome them into our family as early as possible. Thanks in advance for spreading the word about our wonderful educational system in GP.
Have a great weekend,
Roy

Teacher Appreciation Week
Students and Parents-
We think Mason Teachers and Staff are just like Superheroes! They help us learn, keep us safe, challenge us to do new things, and make school fun every day. Please help show appreciation for our teachers and staff by sharing what you think your Teacher’s superpower is. You can include any teacher or staff member!
Please complete and cut out the superhero star that was sent home today and drop it in the school office. We are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week May 8th - 12th. Your families can send in their completed stars by May 4th and they will be displayed in the building.
Thank you for participating and showing our Teachers and Staff how much we appreciate their hard work!

Contact Information
The district would like to remind families to update their contact information through MiStar Parent Portal. For the 6,000 who have downloaded the New and improved district app (available free for Apple and Android) thank you. Now please take the important Step 2 and select GPPSS and your school(s) if you have not done so already! Without that you won’t receive important school and district texts straight to your phone. In return, the district will add the App to our emergency notification process and continue to review and update our safety protocol regularly.
Fall Registration
Just an early reminder that mandatory online registration begins the second week in August. You will need to login with their student’s ID number and birthdate: xx/xx/xxxx, fill out the necessary yearly forms and make purchases offered at the beginning of the school year.
