Zion Lutheran and Fayette Community Church to host summer lunch program
The Summer Food Service Program is an extension of the USDA's school lunch programs, aimed at providing nutritious lunches for students who may not normally have a nutritious lunch every day when they don't go to school. Anyone under the age of 18 is welcome to stop in at the Fayette Elementary Building or Zion Lutheran Church, Monday through Friday to have a free lunch. Any children under 18 are welcome between 11:30 to 12:30 in West Union and 11:30 to 12:00 in Fayette for a free lunch.
While we are not providing hot lunches this year, our hope is to grow the program so that it is capable of serving hot food in the future. Our grant is supported by your attendance, so come on down and grab your lunch.
Emergency Operations Drill July 13
We are looking for volunteers of school staff and students to act as victims in this drill, student volunteers must be 8th grade or older. Please contact the Central Office by phone or email to volunteer. Deadline to volunteer will be June 21. We need 100 or more volunteers to make this as real as possible for the emergency services. Some volunteers will be acting as injured and will need to arrive at 6:00 for make-up and prosthetic injury application. This drill is an important part of our safety and security program. If you have questions, please contact me at dwillhite@nfv.k12.ia.us or 563-422-3851
Congratulations Graduates
But as to our focus, their academic achievements were not overlooked. High ACT scores and dozens of scholarships earned on Awards Night mark the end of a fine group of TigerHawks. Whether they become Hawkeyes, Cyclones, or Panthers; welders, nurses or carpenters, we have confidence in their future successes.
We are Proud to Be NFV and turning out graduates that are reflecting our vision statement, "Well rounded, engaged citizens impacting the future."
