COVID-19 UPDATE
The COVID testing center has expanded its hours to accommodate walk-in asymptomatic testing for students and unvaccinated employees daily Monday to Friday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Symptomatic testing for students is available Monday to Friday by appointment. This email was sent to students this week notifying them of this update.
FLU VACCINES
The College is strongly encouraging employees to get a flu vaccine this fall and will be offering on-site flu clinics for faculty and staff in October. This is the optimal time to get vaccinated as it will ensure you are covered during peak flu season which runs from November to April. Due to strict Covid protocols, vaccines will be by appointment only. Appointments and registration will be coming soon.
Flu Vaccine Clinics:
Lakeside Campus: Wednesday, Oct 13 and Wednesday, Oct 27
Main Campus: Thursday, Oct 14 and Thursday, Oct 28
You can also get a flu vaccine at your primary care practice and at many local pharmacies. For a list of Cigna in-network pharmacies click here. BCBS VT members…to find an in-network pharmacy where you may be able to get a flu vaccine, click here. MVP members….click here. Staying in-network for your vaccine will ensure that your vaccine is covered, and you don’t incur any unexpected costs.

TEACHING AND LEARNING DURING THE PANDEMIC FACULTY SURVEY
To gain faculty perspective on what we have been learning about teaching these past few semesters, the Provost’s Office has launched the “Fall 2021 Pandemic as Portal Teaching Survey.” The survey is still open! Faculty responses will help drive the conversation as we continue our reflection and discourse on the future of teaching and learning at Champlain. The survey is anonymous and confidential. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Ellen Zeman. Students are also completing surveys this week that ask them about their pandemic learning experiences.
IDEA STUDENT RATINGS OF INSTRUCTION SURVEY PERIOD: 11/17 - 12/3
For those of you planning ahead, be sure to schedule a class session in which you plan to administer the IDEA SRI during the prescribed survey period, Nov 17 through Dec 3. Remember that IDEA surveys must be administered to students in class during regular class time. If you have any questions about student course ratings check the IDEA FAQs, or contact Ellen Zeman.
