Hello TKP Families!


We loved seeing all of the smiles on our students faces for picture day! We were able to have a fun day on Friday for all students to celebrate positive attendance and cannot wait to see who's class is going to win the attendance challenge!

Early Release Day- Wednesday, October 6th

This Wednesday, October 6th, is an early release day for all students.. All students will be released at 1:45pm. Please have a plan in place to pick up your student on time. Thank you!

October Count

October Count for grades Kinder-8th began on September 24th and runs through October 8th, with the official count day being October 1st. October count for preschool will run October 25th-November 8th and the official count day is November 1st. It is imperative that students are at school each and every day. Our attendance through October Counts helps fund our school and district. We are also going to award a pizza party to the class with the best attendance! We greatly appreciate your cooperation in ensuring your students are present and on time each day!

Homecoming Parade

TKP will be participating in the Homecoming Parade at Westminster High School on Saturday October 9 at 9:00. We are looking for volunteers to come and help us decorate and walk with us in the parade. We will start decorating our float at 8:30 that morning. If you are interested in walking with us please email Stephanie Fick at sfick@mywps.org.

Afterschool Karate Program

Seo's Karate is providing students the opportunity to participate in an afterschool karate program. The program costs $25 (cash only). The program will take place after school on 10/5, 10/6, 10/7, 10/12, 10/13, and 10/14 from 2:55-3:35 each day except 10/6. On 10/6 karate will run from 1:45-2:30pm due to early release. Parents/Guardians are responsible for picking up students promptly after karate class and parents are required to attend orientation at Seo's Karate(64th and Wadsworth) on 10/4 from 5:30-6:15pm. Major Saver Campaign

Students currently have an opportunity to sell Major Saver cards through October 4th. Each card is sold for $15 a piece and Westminster Public Schools directly benefit from these sales. Each card offers deals to various restaurants and business. Students will be rewarded with prizes based on the number of cards sold. A Major Saver representative will be present each day starting Sept. 28th to collect money and award prizes. Thank you for your support with this program and please let the office know if your student needs an additional collection envelope.

TikTok Challenge Awareness

Please take time to review this flyer below pertaining to the TikTok app students are using that provides them challenges to complete that are often dangerous, offensive, and detrimental to the safety and welfare of students and staff. We really appreciate you having a conversation with your student about this challenge and the importance of not participating.

GOCO Afterschool Nature Club

Nature club is an afterschool club allowing students to connect with nature, participate in activities, and interact with nature enthusiasts. The club is facilitated by educators from Butterfly Pavilion and is free for families. Club is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm-5pm and started on September 14th. To register your student for club, please complete the following link. *Tuesday Club is for students in the following classes: Pennell, Graff, Wilkins, Kaiser, McGurn, Farese, and Lyons. Started on September 14th, only a couple spots remain.


*Thursday Club is for students in the following classes: Walter, Ruck, Dalrymple, Sims, Christopher homeroom, and Hughes' homeroom. Started on September 16th-This group is currently full, but a waiting list will be started for any additional interested students.

Chromebook Agreement

In order for students to bring their Chromebooks home, we need a completed Chromebook agreement. If you have not completed this please do so ASAP!

FREE Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

9Health is hosting a free Pfizer COVID vaccine clinic at Westminster High School on September 12th and October 3rd from 9am-2pm both days. Walk-ins are welcome, must be 12 years or age or older. No I.D. or insurance required. Please see the attached flyer.

Staff Member of the Week

Ms. Megan is the heart beat of the building. She always has a smile on her face and gives the best customer service. She loves and takes care of all of the student's when they are in need! She is a team player and a joy to work with everyday! We appreciate you Ms. Megan! Thank you for everything you do!

Reminders

  • After meeting with PTO, we have decided that students can be dropped off starting at 7:35 AM to help with the flow of traffic.
  • Students need to be on time to school daily. Please make sure students are dropped off by 7:45 AM! Thank you!
  • All students need to wear a mask throughout the school day. Please send your student prepared with a mask daily!
  • Please make sure your student has a water bottle here at school that they can refill throughout the day!
  • Chromebooks need to be transported between school and home daily, once the chromebook agreement is completed! Please make sure to charge your chromebook at night.
