Comparative Poetry Analysis

Introduction
Nature always wears the colors of the spirits. Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.Every single poem such as sleeping in the forest and Prayer to the Pacific, has a different authors style. Authors style is how the author expresses the way he or she feels about the poem. The author expresses their opinion by using different elements to make the poem unique.
Tone and Word Choice
Sleeping in the Forest is a multi-meaning poem. No one knows exactly what the poem means except for the author. A lot of people think the poem could be about either death or dreaming. I determined this from lines 14 to the end of the poem. Prayer to the Pacific is obviously has more of a respectful tone because it is in the format to sound like a prayer.
Figurative Language
Sleeping in the forest has some personification but there is not a lot of personification follow these lines to see what I mean: 1-4, 9-11. There is one metaphor 1-7. There is one simile 14-16. In Prayer to the Pacific there is a lot of personification in the poem: 4, 10, 12, 13, 14, 19, 22, 28, 32. There is no more figurative language in the poem.
Form and Structure
The first poem I talked about is/has: centered, 1 stanza, no rhyme, some rhythm 2-3.
Poem 2 has: a wave look if you turn the page side ways. Spaces make the pause a little bit longer. It could also separate points such as line 8.
Conclusion
Authors style can affect how we look at the poem.
Poem one is very peaceful its a good place to think and to be at.
Poem two is a pretty poem that explains why we need to keep nature clean and be respectful to nature.
