The French and Indian War
Eighteen years ago, we were in The French and Indian War.It was part of a larger world wide war called The Seven Years War. The war began in 1754 and lasted until 1763. We fought this war because, we believed that we should be in control of the rich fur in Ohio River Valley, the war took place in Ohio River Valley. It was a very difficult war and the results were unbearable. Unfortunately, the British Empire won. So as a result for their victory, England obtained Canada and all the land west of the Mississippi River.

The Proclamation of 1763
The French and Indian War is over and, the English won! Since then British Empire has tightened its grip of us colonies. King George declared all land west of The Appalachian Divide off limits to colonial settlers. The Proclamation for-bays private citizens and colonial governments from buying land or, making any agreements with the natives. Only licensed traders can travel westward or, do any trading with the Indians. The measure also helps to shield the natives from continuous attacks by white settlers.

As you may have known, thirteen short years ago, the British government places a direct tax on us colonist. Colonist were in-raged by this. we reacted in many ways such as violence, protests, attacks, speeches, rebel groups like The Sons of Liberty were created, ect. leading to the next cause.

Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts included five different acts. The first act was the Boston port act. This was the result of the Boston Tea Party. This Closed all Boston ports until all the tea that was destroyed was paid for. The second act was called the Massachusetts Government act. The colonists couldn't assemble unless they were authorized by a royal governor. The third act called the Administration of Justice Act. This meant British officials who committed crimes in the colonies were to be sent back to England to stand trial. Act four was the quartering act. Citizens were forced to house and feed British solders at their own expense. The fifth act was the Quebec act. This was when the Province of Quebec was expanded and was seen as a threat to colonist liberty and expansion of colonies. The colonist felt their their constitutional rights were being violated by the British Parliament. Twelve colonies sent representatives to the 1st continental congress to boycott British goods and support each other in case of attack.

Declaration of Independence
Yay! Two years ago we finally got our independence. This involved representatives from all 12 colonies and was drafted by Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration of Independence was a document that formally announced the independence from England. We received this because the colonists were unhappy with treatment from British government. They felt that their constitutional rights were being violated and they wanted to seek independence from England. This took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The first part was called the Preamble. The Preamble explains natural rights of all people. the second part was a list of grievances against King George. The third part was the actual declaration of independence from England.

James Wright- Loyalist
James Wright was the first and last Georgia governor. He was a popular servant of the crown. He never doubted his re-enforcement of the stamp act of 1765, which ignited the Revolutionary crisis. Even through his popularity, he cold not do any thing about the crisis when it started in 1776. Georgia rebels arrested him in January 1776, he then fled to a British war ship and returned to England. He held a British invasion on Georgia which finally happened in December 1778. He then returned to British owned Savannah in July 1779 and served as royal governor for three more years. The British then began to lack resources and man power to keep the revolution in Georgia, and Wright was unable to govern effectively. The Royal Government finally ended when the British evacuated Savannah on July 11, 1782. Wright sailed back to London, never to return.
