Huggins Paw Print

Can't Hide Our Hound Pride!

Howdy Hounds!

In our third edition of the Huggins Paw Print for the 22-23 school year, we will highlight some important announcements as we head into the LAST WEEK of summer! As a reminder, our Paw Print serves as the campus newsletter available to our Huggins community and includes important communication, reminders, and upcoming events for our school. Each week, families will receive a Paw Print via Skyalert. Please be sure your Skyward settings in Family Access are set to receive alerts. We will also publish the weekly newsletter on our school website and Facebook page. Please help spread the word about the Paw Print to ensure all of our families have the latest information about our school.

We had an AMAZING first week back with our staff. We focused on team building, supporting students through high-quality, differentiated learning opportunities, and school safety. This week our work will continue as we prepare for the arrival of our students.

We are looking forward to Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, August 16th from 5:00pm-8:00pm. When you come to school, you will notice lots of changes! Construction continues on our security vestibule, but rest assured that we have been working closly with the construction team, School Safety Coordinator, and the LCISD Police to ensure we are ready to go for the 22-23 school year. For Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, we ask that all families enter through the front door of the school. We will have staff ready to greet our Hounds and help them find their classrooms. Familes can park in the front and side lots, but please refrain from parking along the streets surrounding our school, as this blocks traffic and can pose as a safety constraint for emergency vehicles.

Class assignments for the 22-23 school year will begin to be released Monday in Family Access for families that have completed their Beginning of Year Forms. Please note that assignments will be visable Monday morning for some classes/grade levels, and Skyward will continue to be updated throughout the day and Tuesday morning as assignments as released. If you do not see your child's class assignment, please check back periodically throughout the day. All assignments will be posted by Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, August 16th at 5:00pm. Due to the rapid growth in our area, please be aware that class assignments are subject to change.

We hope everyone has a wonderful last week of summer!

Sincerely,

Bethany Cunningham

LCISD Beginning of Year Forms - Action Needed

For the 2022-23 school year, all required Lamar Consolidated ISD beginning-of-year forms must be completed online through the Skyward Family Access Center.

Offering these forms digitally allows you the convenience of only updating information that has changed from last school year, while also helping us maintain accurate information in our student information system. Instructions, important dates and technical assistance regarding the online forms can be found by clicking here. Included on this page is a link to reset your Family Access username/password if you have forgotten it.

Online forms will be available through the Family Access Center starting Aug. 1 and all forms need to be submitted no later than Sept. 16th. Your student’s schedule will not be available online through the Family Access Center until all of the beginning-of-year forms are completed for your student and after the campus has released schedules. Student schedules will be available online on Wednesday, Aug. 17th if all online forms have been completed.

For those who need access to a computer or the Internet, computers will be available on campus Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. starting August 8th.

Huggins Dress Code

Starting with the 22-23 school year, students at Huggins Elementary will not be required to follow a uniform policy. All students must comply with the LCISD Dress Code, as outlined in the Elementary Student Handbook. We encourage all students to wear purple for Charger Thursday, in support of our Fulshear Chargers. We also encourage students to participate in Huggins Spirit Day on Fridays by wearing Huggins shirts and/or red!
