characters

+ Katniss Everdeen- She is sixteen years old at the beginning of the first book, and is portrayed as quiet, independent and fierce.
+ Peeta Mellark- is the male tribute from District 12, in both the 74th and 75th Hunger Games. He is a baker's son.
+ Gale Hawthorne- is an 18-year-old boy who lives in the Seam of District 12. He is Katniss' best friend and her hunting partner. They meet while Katniss is attempting to hunt to feed her family following their fathers' deaths.

Information

Katniss Everdeen- is the most interesting character in the series that people like, she is the most toughest sixteen year old girl I've ever heard of.

Short Passage

Effie Trinket askes for volunteers, but no one steps forward. He has two older brothers, I know, I've seen them in the bakery, but one is probably too old now to volunteer and the other won't. This is standard. Family devotion only goes so far for most people on reaping day. What I did was the radical thing. [page 26, second paragraph, hardcover edition]

Who should read this?

The type of reader that would like to read this book would be a young adult and up. This is a harder read so you have to be smart to read this amazing book!!! Kids in school should defiantly read this book its a amazing book!

Opinion

This book is really good I would recommend reading the first one before reading any of the others. it is also a good movie, but i would read the book first it is better then the movie. i have not yet got time to start the other books because I have been really busy. I it has its twist and turns, but really its a good book I would make some people read it. Suzanne Collins is a very good author and she has a really good talent to explain things in amazing words!
