Colin Powell Parent Newsletter
April 2019
As a school, it is our responsibility to partner with parents and the community to make sure that the needs of students are being met everyday. In order to do that, we need to connect with parents through positive communication. Keeping parents informed is a yearlong responsibility, but it is one that has the potential to make an affirmative difference in your child's educational experience. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep you connected and to inform you of school policies and upcoming events on campus.
NO SCHOOL April 19th - April 26th (Admission's Day & Spring Break)
- Attendance is VERY important for our students. Please make every effort to have your students at school on time everyday.
- If your student is absent, please make sure that you send them to school with with a note or call the school to notify the attendance clerk.
- Reasons for absence: EXCUSED vs. UNEXCUSED
*Unexcused absence = Family emergency, car issues, running late
Let's support our students & push them to be ready for testing April 29-May 13. (Grades 3-8)
Please remind your students that cell phones & electronics are to be put away during school hours.
