We Hear You!
We hear you. You have voiced your concerns about the workload for your student and we are here to help.
This week we will be pushing out Exactpath and Seesaw Journal, however, we are also reducing the amount of OLS lessons that are assigned to your student each day.
Reach out to your homeroom teacher if you have any additional questions.

Exact Path Reading and Math
Students should be working independently in Exact path to show mastery, please do not work it for them. The guided practice time is during class and OLS lessons, Exact path time is for showing if they have mastered the skill or need more time working to master that grade level skill.
If you need your student's log in for Exact path, please contact your homeroom teacher and they can send you your students credentials.
SeeSaw Daily Journal Writing Prompt
Writing each and every day is a critical part of your students’ academic journey and we are here to make that task easier! Each day they will have a writing prompt assigned on the on track calendar. Have your student draw a colorful picture to have details to write about and then write 3 sentences about your writing topic. Remember to write your first and last name on each entry and the date to help us keep track of your writing development.
Your student will write in their journal or loose leaf paper and then LC's will take a picture of their work and upload it into Seesaw to share with your homeroom teacher once a week. When you upload it your teacher will be able to give feedback and help guide your student's writing development. All writing must be in student's own handwriting. Remember writing is a developmental process. Your student will use sound spelling or inventive spelling and sight words from their word wall to write their sentences. Please do not tell your child how to spell words, but rather support them by asking them to sound it out for you and tell you what sounds they hear. Then have them write the letter that matches that sound to spell words.
You should see connections between things we are learning in class with sight words and spelling patterns, like CVC words, CVCe words and blends and diagraphs in words. Also remember the writing anchor charts from previous newsletters to help your child during writing time.
You should be receiving an email from your teacher with a class code to access your homeroom teacher's Seesaw classroom. Please follow the steps in the email to set up your students account. Then begin uploading their work under the assignments. This week will be a practice week, but once you feel good about uploading your student’s work you can also go back to the September assignment and begin uploading their past writing for this month to help show their writing progression. We are looking forward to seeing how your student grows in writing and spelling this year.
To receive participation credit, students must submit one journal entry into Seesaw at least once a week.
