For those of you whose child I have taught in the past, I am excited to be in your child's life again. For those of you who don't know me, I cannot wait to meet you and your child. Emma's Bio

I'm Emma Harmon! I was born and raise in Durango, Co and I doubt I will ever move, except for maybe to go to a different school. I absolutely love the mountains and the community here,

I finished High School is 2011 and went onto college at the local college, Fort Lewis. I'm currently majoring in Psychology and hope to become a Pediatric Surgeon one day.

I love taking care of children! My experience encompasses a wide variety of working with children in different capacities. I have worked with children from a young age and I'm absolutely crazy about them. Some of my favorite things to do with children is play outside and play imagination games with them. They invite me into a whole other world that we as adults do not always see. I love how children's minds and how they are growing and developing. I learn so much from them.

Hi there Blue Jay Families,

While I am literally devastated that Megan left us, I am pleased to say that I now have an opportunity to step up and help out more in the Blue Jay classroom. There is absolutely no way to ever be as amazing as Megan was but I will try my hardest. She and Colombe have really set a great example and taught me well.

I will take over co-lead teacher responsibilities on Monday, May 5th, 2014. I will have specific students that I will provide documentation for, as well as ongoing observations and parent teacher conferences. I will switch off lesson planning with Miss Colombe for our classroom as well. I aspire to be a great influence in your children’s lives and create fun and interesting curriculum for them. I have been in early childhood classes for over a year and have a lot of ideas that I can’t wait to implement.

I have had a great year with the Blue Jay classroom thus far, and I can only hope that it gets better from here on out. Losing Megan is something that we are all trying to transition into, and it hasn’t been an easy road. We are confident that Miss Heather from the Sparrows will be a great fit in our classroom and we are excited to get her. If you have any questions please feel free to talk to either myself or Colombe.

Thank you for hanging tight with us all as we have figured out what direction to take the Blue jay classroom in. I truly appreciate you, your children, and the time that I get to spend with all of you.

Miss Nicole

2014 Book Fair

We want to thank all the Riverhouse Families for making this our largest Book Fair ever!

Thank you so much for your generous support of our Scholastic Book Fair! Our book sales exceeded $2,000 and, as a result, we earned $1,000 in Scholastic Dollars! We are looking through Scholastic's School Resource Catalog which provides a wide selection of books, electronics and other resources to promote literacy and hoping to place an order soon. We are so grateful for your help!
