Historical Overview
The Industrial Revolution had an impact on where people lived in Europe and the United States in the early 20th century. In the 1700's, people on the farms found there were fewer and fewer jobs as landowners were buying up all the small farms. These people went to the cities to find opportunities there only to find that the cities were crowded and there was a lot of illness as there were no sewers. Eventually things got a little better but it took the lives of many.
