Clackamas River Chinooks!
February 11, 2022
I would like to take a moment to address the new guidance from the state surrounding the mask mandate. While we are excited that it appears local control will be restored, there are many unintended consequences that may come along with this decision. We look forward to having these conversations with our community and staff to make sure we continue to make the best decision as we wait for further clarification.
As a reminder, school starts at 7:50 and the doors open at 7:35. Recently we are beginning to see kids show up outside the building as early as 7:00am. While we are glad they are excited to get to school, nothing good happens between 7:00 and 7:35. Please make sure your student is not arriving on campus before the school doors open, or you are able to supervise them outside the school.
On a similar note, we are also seeing several students staying after school and playing on the playground. Once school is over, we are no longer supervising these areas as our staff are working on their assigned duties. Please make sure that your child has a plan in place to go home and check in with their adult.
Below you will find the specials schedule for your student. Please make sure that on the days they have PE, they are wearing or bring shoes that will not damage the gym floor. If you do not have a pair of shoes, we can get you get some.
We will be cleaning out the lost and found during spring break. Please make sure that you and/or your student get your belongings before the break starts on March 18th.
Below you will find important information about how to get involved in our curriculum adoption, our proposed schedule for 2022-2023, and the "why" behind our proficiency based grading. Please let me know if you have any questions.
As these new challenges and opportunities arise, please remember that your CRE staff is here to help and do our very best to serve our students and community. When contacting the school we would appreciate kindness and an understanding that we are here working within our guidelines to help your students. We appreciate those who assume the best intentions of our staff and bring concerns with an open mind to hearing all perspectives.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend and we'll look forward to seeing you Monday!
