NAESP - Report to Parents: Executive Functioning FAQ's
Executive Functioning lets people plan, organize and complete tasks. These are skills that allow people to act on information. Obviously, this is a very important skill to develop for young students at the elementary level and throughout adolescence. NAESP's Report to Parents: Executive Functioning FAQ's - helps parents identify if their child might have Executive Functioning deficiencies that may be affecting performance of tasks - and exercises to reinforce skills at home.
"Executive function is a set of skills that help your child make plans, control behavior, and set goals. Your child’s growing brain, as Harvard University’s Center on the Developing Child describes it, is like a busy airport, and executive function is its air-traffic control system. It allows a child to focus on an activity, remember details, and manage their time—all critical tasks for success in school."

We’re "Ghana" Go All For Books!
Buckingham continues to celebrate our reading initiative with a "love of books" - as we focus on serving our community (both locally and globally) in creative ways! Following our successful book-drive for James J. Sullivan Elementary in Philadelphia, Buckingham has joined several CB Schools to collect books and raise money to support the African Library Project in Ghana, Africa. We have supported Ghana in the past - as we helped raise funds in the same village for a School House and Restroom! Our students will be encouraged to help in at least one of three ways - in conjunction with the Scholastic Book Fair: All for Books Program!
Please look for details in March 2nd's Thursday Folder!
