Buddy Family Program

Calling all Families of Rising Sixth Graders!

Dear Families:

As your child gets ready to transition to middle school, you are too. Welcome to the Buddy Family program, which matches you with a current Pikesville Middle School family. Sign up to receive a phone call this summer from a family who knows the drill. If you have any questions, you can ask away! Even if you don't, make new friends!

What is the goal of the program? We want families and their rising sixth graders to transition smoothly to the middle school. Your child has questions and concerns, and you probably do too! That’s where Buddy Families come in. You will be contacted by a Pikesville Middle parent over the summer, and they will happily answer questions you may have. You might even find out that you have things in common!

Why participate? Communication builds bridges. The more relationships we form with fellow families, the more we feel like part of a school community. We hope that every family with a rising sixth grader matriculating to PMS will participate.

How do I sign up? Fill out the bottom half of this letter and return it to your child’s teacher by June 17, 2019, email the information to the address below, or respond to the RSVP below.

Back-to-School Picnic at Pikesville Middle School. In August, CHAI will sponsor a back-to-school pot luck for families. Bring your family and get to meet other families new to the middle school!

Please return this form to your child’s homeroom teacher by the last day of school, or email the information below to brheingold@chaibaltimore.org.
