2016 Is In Full Swing
What a great week back from vacation! Thanks to all of you who have quickly back into the swing of the school routine. Our students have settled back in and are working diligently in their studies. We look forward to having a successful start to 2016!
Last Friday, five our our students were honored at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Mass for their participation in the annual MLK Essay contest. We are so proud of our students and their teachers who worked hard for their accomplishments! Ikeem Bolds, Jaida Bookman-Davis, Zayn Willars, and Bishop Williams all received awards for their essays and a monetary prize as well! In addition to having multiple students place in the contest, our very own 7th grader, NaNa-aba, scored the highest overall. Out of over 80 submissions, NaNa-aba's essay received the most points from all the judges. Way to go, OMM!
Student council has decided to host a Valentine's Day Dance on Friday, February 12th. In order to fund their venture, they have initiated a "Penny War." Classes compete with each other by bringing in loose change. Silver (quarters, dimes, nickles, etc.) brings points to your jar while pennies take points away. Start strategizing now to help your child's class win a pizza party! The contest begins today and will end on February 5th. Contact a student council member for more information.
Don't forget to attend our PTO meeting tomorrow night at 6pm followed by a meet and greet for Mrs. Bratcher. We look forward to seeing you.
If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know!
