VPE Family Newsletter
November 2023
VPE Parents/Guardians,
October was a full and busy month. We had successful parent conferences, canned food drive, Glow Day, and our kick off to our APEX fundraiser. Remember to save this newsletter for reference and continue to check your email daily. Teachers send a newsletter through Skyward each week. You can also check your child's gradebook at any time (2nd and 3rd grade) by viewing the gradebook tab in Skyward Family Access.
In November we will be honoring our Veterans. Please see details below in the newsletter. If you have a Veteran in your family, we would love to honor them on our honor wall. We will be sending home a paper for you to decorate and send back honoring your special Veterans.

Soon we will begin offering 2nd helpings for 3rd graders (upon request), extra snacks/sides, and ice cream 2x a week. Students must have money on their account to purchase these items.
Student Lunch: $3.25
Student Expectations & Discipline
We go over 3 daily expectations every morning: 1) Be Respectful 2) Be Responsible 3) Be Ready for Success. Students are reminded frequently of our expectations for their behavior and the importance of ensuring their learning environment is protected from disruptions.
We believe in helping and guiding our students to become the best they can be! Many times in life, this comes through hard lessons and consequences when mistakes are made. The "mark" system is used at VPE to serve as visual warnings to allow students the opportunity to correct their behavior. Should students not correct their behavior and receive 3 marks, you will be notified of the detention. Parental partnerships are crucial as we help our students learn and grow. It is a privilege to come alongside parents as we shape the next generation of leaders! We do not expect perfection but we do expect students to take ownership of their mistakes and learn from them.
In regards to rewards, students can earn Eagle Bucks for being caught following our rules, showing great effort in school work, being a leader, and more! Students can trade in Eagle Bucks for different experiences at VPE!
We sent our discipline policy home at the beginning of the year, but it is linked below if you need a reminder.
