Husky Happenings
Week of May 11th
In Loving Memory
This week we faced the sad and difficult news of the death of Ms. Patti Engle, one of our third grade teachers. We will remember Ms. Engle for her dedication to our students and staff and her passion for teaching and being a Husky. Words cannot express how much she will be missed, and we will always remember her as a beloved member of our Hillandale family.
We wish to thank all our families, students, and faculty for the support you have shown each other in this challenging time. The example you have shown is a positive and healthy one and provides us the opportunity to work toward strengthening our relationships with each other.
We will continue to remember and honor Ms. Engle in our memories, hearts, and through our Husky spirit. We know that the days ahead may be difficult and our school is here for you if you or your child would like someone to speak with.
Ms. Engle’s dedication to educating students was evident and brought her great joy and fulfilment. We will continue the work that Ms. Engle loved and our commitment to educating your children. Teachers and students will continue to use our Learn from Home model to deliver and access instruction and that instruction will continue to be available throughout this week and each week. As always, we care about your child and your family. If you have any questions or concerns for your child’s emotional or academic needs, please contact our school.
Below are some resources that you may use during this time to support your child and yourself. Thank you to Blair Stockton, coordinator of Four Seasons Compass Group for Grieving Children and Teens, for the tips on supporting children and caregiver tips.
