Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
I hope you and your family had a terrific Spring Break. The students have been sharing about all of their adventures this week with staff and administration. Seems like a great deal of fun was had by all. This week, we came back working full steam ahead. Our staff developer Lisa, from Teacher’s College in New York, has been working with our teachers in Grades K-2 on Writing. Special thanks to all the students in Ms. Dallas, Ms. Sanders, and Ms. Campen’s classrooms for allowing us to come in and practice with them. Please see a few pics of the week above and below.
I want to congratulate Jeannie Hunt (parent) and Lizzie Chalpan (teacher) on being elected as the newest members of our School Governance Council. Both ladies were winners in our election held prior to the break and both are highly invested in our school. We look forward to the work they will continue to do with our team over the next few years centered around strategic planning.
Tomorrow, we have our Colt’s Cup Fun Run and Hands-On CCE. Mrs. Richardson will be here supervising the first part of the morning at the run and I will come in later to work with the grounds crew. Both events will be held rain or shine. We look forward to seeing all of you who can come out to support our school.
Georgia Milestones Assessment
During the month of April, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking the Georgia Milestones Assessment. 3rd and 4th grade students will take the ELA and Math End of Grade assessment while our 5th grade students will take the End of Grade Assessment in the areas of ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Teachers will indicate exact testing dates for their classes via newsletters. We know that our students will perform well due to the high level of instruction they receive each day. We encourage students to work carefully and do their best. This is a message that is not limited to just testing, but applies to other academic and social areas as well. Please remember that lunch visitors and volunteers will not be admitted during the month of April to help us maintain a calm and orderly environment. If you have any questions about testing, please reach out to Mrs. Richardson at richardsona1@fultonschools.org.
