An Exciting Week!

Hello Atholton Family --

It has been a pleasure visiting your classrooms this week. I am so impressed with the level of engagement, rigor, and quality teaching I have observed. Once again, thank you to everyone for your assistance with our first Senior Kickoff! Our catered lunch was a big hit and there was even line dancing at the end!

If you missed the football game Friday night -- you missed a classic! As you know, we won the Ravens Rise High School Showdown Game of the Week. Thank you to everyone in our community who voted – it worked! Given that our first Friday night game last week was moved to Saturday morning due to weather, the game this past Friday served as our first official night game. Ravens cheerleaders and Poe, the Ravens mascot, were welcomed guests to our big game against Reservoir. The game proved to be a thrilling nail-biter as our team trailed 7-21 in the fourth quarter. However, in true Raider Nation fashion, our team tied and then took the lead in overtime! As the Raiders stopped the Gators from scoring the two point conversion, the field was rushed by the student body. It was truly an exhilarating experience! Please view photos from the game here. Hats off to Coach Carey and his entire team!

Do not forget to complete your SafeSchools training modules and the other online training tools. Emails will be going out to remind individual teachers as we approach the October 5 deadline.
