Lil Steamer Families --
[This note is a bit lengthy, but I IMPLORE YOU to read it to the very end.]
Let's gooooooooooooooo!!! If you cannot tell, my enthusiasm as we approach the end of the first semester is peaking right now!!!
I am so excited that we have come so far this school year! It is nothing short of amazing given all of the challenges we have faced over the past nine months.
I am also very excited for our staff to receive a much needed extended break. If I could lock them all out of the building for the upcoming winter break, I would.
- What our staff has endured over the past several months is daunting.
- What our staff has had to learn over the past several months is heavy.
- What our staff has had to adapt to has been challenging.
And they've been here day-in and day-out FOR OUR KIDS. Countless hours, added stress, and sore feet each day. But always with their best effort, a positive attitude, and a smile in their eyes (and behind their masks!) FOR OUR KIDS.
How many days have your children come home excited about school or excited to return?
How many students have a completely safe and comfortable feeling about their classroom?
How many students don't have the weight of a pandemic on their shoulders because of the love they feel each day from their teachers?
I have one request to make from our families:
Please take a moment to share your appreciation for your child's teacher and staff. Send an email, write a note, make a phone call... anything. Share a story with the teacher that your child shared with you about class. Share how they've helped your family in some fashion this year. Share how they matter in your child's life. Our kids need to hear and know that they are loved and appreciated every day. And sometimes, we as adults need to hear that too. This year more than ever.
My request will only take a few minutes out of your day. But it will matter far beyond that for our staff. Remind them of the difference they are making. Remind them it's an unusual year and their efforts are appreciated. None of us were prepared for this school year.
Yet, here we are. Day in. Day out. FOR OUR KIDS.

Virtual Book Fair
Special note SHIPPING is FREE on all BOOK orders over $25. If a pencil or eraser or non-book items are placed in the order, shipping charges will be attached to the order!!!!!
The virtual book store is amazing to browse. The book store gives the experience of walking into the Scholastic book fair. Double Click on the book and read about each book. It's amazing!
We are excited to offer this new Scholastic Book Fair at this time. We felt it was the safest way to still have a book fair and enjoy a new learning experience. We look forward to our Spring book fair and hope to see everyone then.
Thank you for supporting the library!
