4th Grade Weekly
April 15, 2022
4th Grade Learning is an Adventure!
Thank you for coming to our 4th Grade program! We are so proud of all our students!!!
No School Friday the 15th and Monday the 18th! We hope all of you have a wonderful Easter weekend!
Baby Pics
Parents, be sure to turn in the baby/toddler picture of your student this week!
Pictures must be labeled on the back with student name and should be 4x6. Please put the picture in a labeled Ziploc bag to turn into your child's homeroom teacher.
Field Trip
Our field trip is this Thursday, 4/21/22.
- We will be leaving Ride first thing in the morning and returning to campus around 2:30 p.m..
- Please make sure your student has eaten a good breakfast and is on time. We do not want anyone left behind because they are tardy that day! We have a strict schedule that is jampacked full of fun!
- Students should have a packed lunch that is labeled in a Ziploc bag. Lunch kits are too big to fit them all in a cooler.
- Students should bring a hearty snack and 2 disposable water bottles! Water bottles should be clearly labeled with your student's name. Please leave their normal reusable water bottles at home for this day. We don't want these to get lost!
- One of our rotations will be the gift shop. If you want your child to be able to buy something, please be sure they have their money in a labeled bag that can fit securely in their pocket. Students will only be able to buy things for themselves, not other classmates.
- If you have any other questions, please contact your child's homeroom teacher for clarification.
End of Year Activities
If you would like to contribute to our end of year activities, it is not too late to sign up on our Sign Up Genius link. If there is something else you would like to contribute, we will take it! Just email your homeroom teacher and let her know. Thank you parents!!!
End of Year 4th Grade Calendar
Be sure to check out our end of the year calendar! This will be a "live" calendar with dates and events added as we approach the end of the year.

Parents- Just a reminder that students need wired earbuds/headphones with them every day. There are many activities and assignments in class that require these. If you do not have any, here is a link on Amazon to get a pack at a reasonable price! EARBUDS Also, if you are interested in your child using a mouse for their Chromebook at school, here is a link for one. Wired mini mouse for Chromebook
It is still a great time to utilize the STAAR practice testing. Students can access a practice site at home by going to: https://www.texasassessment.gov/practice-tests.html
SEE BELOW FOR SPECIFIC STEPS TO ACCESS THIS!
We remain at a Level 2. For more information on enhanced safety protocols you can click on Roadmap to Remaining Open!
Transition From 4th to 5th Grade
Ride's annual Field Day is quickly approaching. Field Day will occur outdoors in the morning. Your child should wear tennis shoes, apply sunscreen, and bring a labeled water bottle.
Each student will be paired with a “buddy.” The buddies will work together to complete various cooperative, competitive, and active events. Students are free to rotate to the events of their choice.
In order for Field Day to be successful, we need your help. Due to the high number of activities, sixty volunteers will be needed to assist us with running the events for the entire school. No spectators please! If you are committed to helping, please sign up online at https://tinyurl.com/RideFieldDay . Further volunteer information will be communicated via email, including event descriptions, recommended supplies, volunteer check-in procedures, and other pertinent details.
Thank you,
Bridget Hodge and Laura Matthews

Once you click on the link, choose Guest User and click Sign In. You will then be able to click on a drop down menu where you will select your child's grade level and choose from several different previously released STAAR tests.
This will be available year round. If you have any questions or difficulty, contact your child's homeroom teacher.
