Tiger Family Newsletter
Week of January 22- 26
Hello Tiger Families!
What a beautiful weekend we’re having; I hope you’re getting to spend it sharpening the saw with each other!
This past Thursday, Timberline hosted our annual CALA Art Show. Senora Hernandez, along with the CALA student team, created an experience like no other! Students led tours of the exhibitions created by each of the grade levels; Mr. Noin Rivera painted an art piece LIVE, there were live dance and music performances from Panama, Puerto Rico and much more.
Our CALA student leaders were Genesis Alvarenga 3rd, Ileana Sotelo 2nd, Jaxon McDougal 3rd, Juan Gallegos 3rd, Cheyenne Archaga 5th, Christopher Chavez 5th, Aidan Gonzalez 4th, Ava De Santiago 1st, Ethan Stevulak 3rd, Samantha Gallegos 1st, Ailed Resendiz 5th, Keyla Tovar 1st, Keily Tovar 5th and Sam Dalhke 3rd.
The CALA Art Show is just another example of how Timberline is a leader in shining the light on all that cultural diversity brings to our community!
Have a wonderful upcoming week!
Proud to be your principal,

Parent Meeting!
From the Nurse!
Dear Parents,
The health and safety of all students is important to the staff at Timberline Elementary . In an effort to keep our students healthy and in the classroom, I wanted to share a few lifestyle hygiene habits. We can’t keep everyone from getting sick, but we sure can try.
1.) Wash your hands!! Before you eat, after you eat, when you use the restroom, after PE, after you sneeze, anytime you can. When in doubt, wash your hands.
2.) If you cough or sneeze, use your sleeve. (The students can demonstrate this for you;)
3.) Respect personal space. Keep a little distance between you and your friends, and you and your teachers.
4.) Only visit the nurse for things that cannot be taken care of in the classroom. At any time during the day there may be a sick student in the clinic, so the healthiest place to be is in the classroom. Teachers have band aids for little cuts and scrapes.
5.) Wear weather appropriate clothing. If there is snow on the ground, students should wear closed-toed shoes, pants and a jacket.
While we practice these healthy habits at school, we also ask that you do your part in assessing your student’s health at home. If your student has a fever of more than 100.0 degrees, or is experiencing vomit/diarrhea, district policy requires them to stay home. Only when your student has been symptom free without the use of any medication for more than 24 hours may they return to campus.
In the event that your student is staying home from school, please call the front office and let us know. Also, bring to the front office a doctor’s note or parent note. As always, we are here to answer any healthy hygiene habits questions.
Thank you,
Belinda R. Dunn RN, BSN

Ride Change, Doctor's Appointments and Emergency Care for Late Pickups
The school will follow the direction you provided about how your child gets home each day. If there is a change to this, you must notify the office in one of the following ways:
Send a written note with your child with details for how he or she will get home that day.
Email maria.reyes@gcisd.net and kimberly.becerra@gcisd.net with details for how you child will be picked up prior to 2:00 p.m.
Call the office 817-251-5770 prior to 2:00 p.m.
Changes cannot be made by text messages or calls to teachers. Teachers are working with your children during the school day and we can’t ensure that information will get to the office.
If your child has a doctor's appointment that requires leaving school early:
- Please notify the office the day before the appointment so the office has time to prepare necessary checkout for you.
- Pick up your child prior to 2:30 for early release. Because of the size of our school, we are not able to process early pickups after this time. This is a shared policy across GCISD elementary campuses.
- Send a doctor's note in with your child the following day so that we are able to excuse the partial absence.
If you have an emergency and are not able to pick up your child(ren) by 3:20:
- Your child(ren) will be taken to KidzU for supervision at which time an emergency care fee is charged.
- KidzU is located at the Timberline Annex, across from the LAC.
- Unless there are unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather, our car rider dismissal line is cleared by 3:20.
- If possible, please call the office to alert us of the emergency.
