Mrs. Abrams’ Kindergarten News
A note from Mrs. Abrams
This week we read many scarecrow books to talk about different story elements.
We discover the characters and setting in Barn Dance by Bill Martin Jr.
We analyzed the character of the Scarecrow in Little Scarecrow Boy by Margaret Wise Brown. We retold the beginning, middle and end of the story for Sam the Scarecrow and sequenced the events in Old Lady Who Swallowed some Leaves by Lucille Cauldron.
We created a story graph for The Lonely Scarecrow to show the character, setting problem and solution.
I love to teach children to write stories by the way of Literature. We are beginning to use our own imagination to create, develop and write our own stories and are important to them. A good story always begins in your heart.
