Message From Mr. Veronie
I am very excited to introduce myself as your new Assistant Principal for this upcoming school year. I come to serve you as a veteran administrator with 11 years of experience in the role, most recently at Tuscarora Elementary/Green Valley Elementary. Prior to that I enjoyed teaching at both the fourth and fifth grade level. In all, I have had the pleasure to work in 9 different elementary schools throughout the county!
Based on my experiences and beliefs, I know that every student can learn and grow throughout their time in elementary school. I have worked hard to build strong relationships with students, families and the communities in which I have served, and I am looking forward to meeting all of you!
I am honored to receive placement at Carroll Manor for the upcoming school year! As a team we will work together to do amazing things to ensure each student achieves to their potential and grows academically, socially and emotionally. Enjoy the remainder of the summer and we will see you soon.
Yours in Education,
John Veronie
Assistant Principal
mesage from mrs. horman
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!
I hope that all of you are having a relaxing and enjoyable summer; it is well deserved! September will be here before we know it.
As an Instructional Coordinator of Specialized Programs at Carroll Manor, I am eager to continue my journey within the specialized programs of FCPS. It is my goal to support all stakeholders in expanding language and learning for all students while meeting the needs of the whole child. I am enthusiastic about working collaboratively with each of you to narrow and eliminate the achievement gap, develop social competencies, encourage independence and prepare our students to become contributing members of a global society.
Prior to this exciting move, I served as a Coordinator for Special Education pre-k, and most recently the Challenges Programs at Deer Crossing Elementary School, Middletown Primary School, and Middletown Elementary School. Additionally, in my earlier years with FCPS, I was the Behavior Interventionist at Hillcrest Elementary School for grades Pre-K - 2, and a teacher at Carroll Manor Elementary School and Green Valley Elementary School. I have experiences within multiple grade levels as a teacher, teacher leader, acting assistant principal, and a behavioral interventionist. Each experience has allowed me to work with staff, students and community members in all content areas from Pre-k to fifth grade, as well as, students within both general education settings and specialized programs. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with coordinators, administrators, staff members, students and families alike to help meet the diverse needs of all students. I look forward to learning and growing with each of you. Teamwork makes the dream work!
In my time outside of school, I enjoy time with my husband, Justin, our 5 year old daughter, Adyson and our 11 month old son Brooks. I am a native of Frederick County Public Schools and attended school in Middletown. While there, I played sports and found a passion for football. While I am a Maryland girl, I love watching the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday with friends and family. Go Steelers!
As we embark on this new journey together, I am excited to get to know you and learn from your expertise. I am sure that this school year will be the best yet, and I look forward to being a part of it. My main office will be located at Carroll Manor Elementary School and I can be contacted through email at Erin.Horman@fcps.org or phone 240-236-3800. Please feel free to contact me any time.
Sincerely,
Erin Horman
Special Education Coordinator
