- Please remember to check the weather before sending your student to school. We have had some pretty warm days, but the rain has also been making an appearance.
This Week in Class
MATH: This week groups finished their work on graphing, area and perimeter, and multi-digit multiplication practice. We then started our whole class lessons on measurement. We discussed how to use a ruler to measure to the nearest half inch and customary units of length.
READING: Students continued their group literature circles this week. The students have been doing a wonderful job reading and working with their groups!
WRITING: We finished our poetry unit. Students were also able to share two of their favorite poems to the class. Lastly, we took our fictional narrative pre-assessment. This will be our last writing unit of the year.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We finished our unit on economics. We discussed renewable vs nonrenewable resources. We also talked about importing, exporting, and trading. Students then took our economy unit test.
OTHER: CTP Practice Test on Wednesday and Kindergarten World Cup on Friday!
Next Week in Class
MATH: Students will continue work on measurement. We will discuss metric units of length, area, and perimeter.
READING: Students will continue their small group literature circles.
WRITING: We will continue our fictional narrative unit. Students will get to select two of their favorite poems to share with the class.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will begin our unit on government. Students will be introduced to the basics of government, both local and national.
OTHER: No School on Monday, Ben's Birthday on Wednesday, and hopefully our crayfish will show up!
