The District 303 Kindergarten enrollment process for the 2021-2022 school year will be virtual! Between January 19 and March 12, families will be able to enroll their kindergarten-age children by visiting the Kindergarten Registration & Information page of the District 303 website. On the site you will find:

• The New Student Intake Form

• The Kindergarten Step-by-Step Guide for registration

• Health and Dental exams and immunization information

• Contact information for all elementary schools

• Information about Full Day and Half Day Kindergarten

Our Scholastic Book Fair has moved online this year. It is available to families from March 8-21st! Look for student wish lists and book fair flyers to come home this week.

Our Classroom Wish Lists have also gone online. Instead of choosing a book for your child’s classroom, as you have at in-person fairs in the past, you may deposit an amount of money in your child’s teacher’s eWallet. Your child’s teacher will use the funds deposited in their eWallets to purchase books for their classroom. Please visit the Classroom Wish List here. The first meeting of the D303 Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (D303 SE-PAC) will meet virtually via Zoom on Tuesday March 23, 2021 from 7:00-8:30 pm. If you are a parent/guardian of a student entitled to special education services in D303, we are excited for this partnering opportunity. Participants will engage in small and large group discussions focused on our parent survey results. Please complete this short survey to support our planning. The upcoming months are going to be very exciting for your 5 th grader as they begin to think

about their transition to 6 th grade. The Wredling Middle School PTO wants to give your child a

chance to purchase a special edition Wredling t-shirt on our online Spirit Wear Store. The

online store will be open beginning Friday, March 5 th thru Wednesday, April 7 th . Visit our online

Orders are expected to be completed by mid-April and will then be delivered to the school

individually packed and labeled. The front office will disseminate orders to each student or

arrange pick up for remote student orders following building/school guidelines.

I’m Addie Grimm and currently a sophomore at St.Charles North. I’m a part of Tri-M, the national music honors society here at North. We’re doing a Music Drive from March 15, 2021, through March 25, 2021. During this drive, we’ll be collecting used/old instruments, music equipment, and any old sheet music or accessories for underprivileged kids and schools. All collections will be donated to the charity Hungry For Music, which will get these donations to the kids and/or schools. Collections will start at 7:20 am and end at 3:30 pm Monday-Friday, donations can be dropped off at the vestibule at North. Saturday, March 20, 2021, from 10am-1pm we will also be collecting donations in the back of the school, by the music doors. If you could please share this with your students and student’s families that would be greatly appreciated! I’ve attached a flyer that you can share. Dear Parents and Guardians,

District 303 participates in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey that collects feedback from our

students, teachers, and parents. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will give

you the opportunity to share your thoughts on important elements of school effectiveness. The

responses will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide our

improvement efforts. All responses are confidential and will never be connected to you or your

child.

The Parent Survey is currently open and will remain so through April 2 2021. To take the

survey, please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the appropriate survey. As

part of this communication, we have included graphics of the login page with additional

information about how to access the survey. Most notably, make sure you enter Kane County

in the box for county even if your home or your child’s school is in DuPage County. This will

allow you to correctly select your child’s school.

All District 303 teachers, as well as students in 4 th through 12 th grades, are being asked to

complete this survey. 5Essentials Reports will be generated for schools if their teachers and/or

students meet the response rate threshold of 50 percent. Teachers will work with students to

assist them with logging in and taking the student survey.

On behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois 5Essentials Survey is administered

online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. The survey gathers data related to five

indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and

larger test score gains. These five indicators that affect and predict school success are:

 Ambitious Instruction

Please see the updated March 25th date as being a full day of school for students.

If ANY member of a household becomes ill with COVID-like symptoms OR are awaiting COVID test results, OR have tested positive for COVID, ALL students/district employees in the household MUST stay home until the symptomatic household member has provided the required documentation to the school nurse. It is up to the family to provide this documentation to all schools involved.

COVID-like symptoms include: Fever (100.4° F or higher), new onset of moderate to severe headache, shortness of breath, new cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain from an unknown cause, new congestion/runny nose, new loss of sense of taste or smell, nausea, fatigue from unknown cause, muscle or body aches. Medical Evaluation and Testing are Strongly Recommended for ALL persons with COVID-Like Symptoms.

Policy Regarding Return to School:

• If a COVID test is completed for the symptomatic individual and test results are negative, the students/district employees living in the household may return to school after providing the negative test results to the school nurse.

• If the symptomatic individual is evaluated by his/her doctor and an alternative diagnosis is provided, the students/district employees in the household may return to school after providing the doctor’s note with alternative diagnosis to the school nurse.

• If no COVID testing or no evaluation by a healthcare provider of the symptomatic individual, the symptomatic individual will need to stay home 10 calendar days from onset of symptoms and ALL other students/district employees living in the household will need to stay home 14 calendar days from the onset of symptoms. Return to school will require a note from a parent/guardian indicating that the ill household member is fever-free without fever-reducing medication and that symptoms have improved.

• If the symptomatic family member tests positive for COVID-19, the symptomatic individual will stay home for 10 calendar days and will need a Release from Isolation letter from the local health department before returning to school. All other students/district employees living in the household will need to stay home for 14 days and will need a Release from Quarantine letter from the local health department.

• Bachelor's degree in any field you would qualify to apply for a substitute license with the state which allows you to sub for teachers or teacher assistants. You would apply using THIS link.
