Safely Navigating Our Children Through Cyber Space
X-Box, Wii, Nintendo DS, Smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube are just a small sampling of platforms kids use to interact online. What are they doing once they get there?
Here's your chance to get answers! This night is sure to povide answers and some alarming insights into what kids are doing online. It's not just teen-aged children out there in cyber space; an increasing number of elementary schoolers are wondering around in this murky, evolving world.
- Do you understand "net-lingo?" Acronyms like YOLO, POS, LMIRL are frequently used in the digital world. You NEED to know their meanings!
- Do you know all your children's “friends?”
- Who do they “follow” and who literally “follows” them?
- Do you really understand cyber bullying, and the potentially devastating consequences of this behavior?
The internet is an amazing tool for education and productivity, but children often unwittingly expose themselves to serious dangers online.
YOU can help them navigate safely in the faceless digital world ofCyberspace.
You will leave this presentation truly cyber aware. Materials to take home and share with your children will be provided.
The material being presented is intended for a mature audience.
