This website mirrors Facebook so it is user friendly and the students already have knowledge of the interworking. Students can submit work to the teacher online and have it assessed and scored all digitally. The site is constantly adding features such as texting options for students to receive assignment and announcement reminders, syncing calendars, dozens of apps, teacher PLNs and communities, and even has a parent portal that allows teachers to communicate directly with parents about the happenings in the classroom. Brand new to Edmodo, CCSS aligned assessments. Check out this great tool for all your classroom needs!
The site is very user friendly. Kids can create avatars and make their very own movies using their virtual selves. They simply type in the text and the avatars speak it. This is great for sharing facts in an interesting and innovative way. They are currently restructuring the site (new ownership), but the features promised will dazzle! http://goanimate.com/ is a similar website.
This website is a great tool to combine your lesson's multimedia tools into one location. Simply drag and drop YouTube video, Flickr images, or EduCreations in the Blend and away you go. The creators also give the option for students to join the class and take quizzes or comment on the material in real time. Students can also leave feedback and reflect on the lesson. They offer 1 minute tutorials for fast and easy learning!!
PowToon's mission is to create the world’s most minimalist, user friendly and intuitive presentation software that allows someone with no technical or design skills to create engaging professional “look and feel” animated presentations. They combine presentation and animated cartoon. Kids love the endless possibilities to animate their thinking. Watch it come alive, literally, with PowToon.

Movie Maker: Digital Storytelling
Digital Storytelling takes the writing of young adults to a whole new level with technical tools such as images, graphics, music, and sounds mixed with the students' own voice. Students use Movie Maker to publish their peer and self-revised writing pieces.
