DBE Girls Attend the ETSU STEMposium for Girls
ACT TEST DATE FOR JUNIORS
All 11th grade DBE students will take the ACT on Tuesday, April 3rd at D-B EXCEL.
* Students will report to the cafe at 7:45am.
For 11th Grade Families-
ACT Test – Beginning with the graduating class of 2018, all students must take the ACT as a graduation requirement. On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, the ACT will be administered to all DBE juniors, except those who have already taken an ACT on a national Saturday testing date and do not wish to test on April 3. If a student has not taken the ACT prior to March 2018, he/she must test on the April 3 test date. See "Testing" page, by clicking HERE, for additional information.

*ATTENTION SENIORS*
ALL Seniors must complete an online Personal Data Questionnaire by Thursday, April 19, 2018. Be sure to indicate where your final transcript is to be sent. A completed Personal Data Questionnaire must be on file prior to participating in graduation, picking up your diploma, and having transcripts mailed.

Outside Food Policy
Per KCS policy, you are NOT allowed to bring in outside food. From this day forward, if you bring in outside food (i.e. donuts, Pals, McDonalds, etc.) you will be asked to stay in the office until your food has been eaten. If you have any questions about this, please see Mrs. Hensley.
From the KCS Student Handbook:
OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGES: Please do not bring food or beverages to your child from any outside eating establishment. Parents/guardians are invited during the school year to have lunch in the cafeteria with their children. All lunch visits must be pre-approved by the student’s teacher or administration to ensure there is an accurate lunch count. Only parents/guardians are allowed for lunch visits; current identification must be shown upon arrival. Again, please do not bring outside food or beverages to your child.
KCS Board Policy:
Policy 3.500: Food or drink packaged at commercial food establishments shall not be brought in to the cafeteria to be consumed by students during their regular mealtimes.
ETSU Spring Open House
Students can attend a complete day of programming designed with prospective students' needs in mind. Enjoy a welcome to the university, speak with faculty and staff in the Experience ETSU departmental expo, tour campus and explore residence halls, and participate in information sessions and college-specific open houses.

Yesterday was designated as "Safe Schools Day" across Kingsport City Schools as a productive and meaningful way to honor the victims of school tragedies while striving to provide the safest possible environment for KCS students and staff.
Because of this, we want to review communication avenues to report concerns.

Advisory Class
Per the KCS Student Handbook: Students who have more than nine (9) unexcused absences to any one class will not be permitted to participate in Prom or Graduation. They may also be eliminated from participating in certain field trips or extracurricular events.
Virtual Day Expectations
Virtual days are NOT a day off.
Virtual days are designated for students to work virtually.
Students are expected to complete any and all work their teachers assign to them on the virtual days.
- Coursework assigned on virtual days could include but is not limited to; written/paper assignments and assignments in Canvas to be completed online.
