2017-2018 Scheduling Information for 10th Grade
It is time to start planning for Sophomore Year!
The course requests are very important in helping us plan and put together the master schedule, as well as individual student schedules, for the 2017-2018 school year. Today, I am providing some needed information so that you and your child can make an informed decision about their course selection for next year.
Course descriptions, the Honors Status Program information, concurrent information (seniors only), graduation requirements can also be found in the 2017-2018 Course Catalog, click the button at the bottom of the newsletter.
NEW THIS YEAR--the Course Request is on ParentsWeb.
- This online Course Request will be active for the month of February.
- Simply log into your ParentsWeb account and look for the Course Request tab in the toolbar under Student Information.
- Course Requests must be submitted by February 28.
- Paper copies are available upon request through my office.
- As long as the Course Request is active on ParentsWeb, you can make changes.
- Students with ParentsWeb accounts may also be able to go in and make changes to the course request, so PLEASE communicate with your child so that everyone is on the same page. If you and your child are not seeing eye-to-eye on electives, please communicate with the counseling office directly.
I am meeting with students by grade level on February 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to talk about general scheduling information for the upcoming school year. I put a link to my presentation below.
- Each 9th grade student will have the opportunity to have an Advisory Meeting with me over the next couple weeks. This meeting will give us a chance to look at graduation requirements, discuss career and college plans, and go over their transcript. It is a great time for them to ask questions as well.
- Students entering 9th-12th grade interested in applying for Honors will need to print the application (link below) and turn in completed applications to my office by February 28th.
Many Blessings,
Mrs. Breeding
