So How Can I Use This in My Classroom?
Need ideas on how to get started? Try these!
- Use Tagxedo's shape function to create a word cloud in a shape that hints to a unit's theme
- Have students use your Quizlet card sets, but encourage them to create their own with their own meanings and examples
- Put your word cloud as your desktop background so kids see it repeatedly on the ActivBoard
- Use Quizlet's built in games as a review activity - have kids BYOT to make it competitive
- Create a "cool words" card set - encourage kids to find vocabulary in the world around them (school appropriate) that they can add to the card set throughout the year
- Go beyond just vocabulary - the sky's the limit - test review card sets, word clouds of "dead/overused" words, . . .
Remember - everything saves! Create once, use repeatedly! Spend a little time now and reap the benefits later!
