Sales Meeting Devotionals
The Pharma and Surgical National Sales Meetings in September hosted a Christians@Work morning devotional/networking event with over 50 people attending the Surgical devotional and about 25 at the Pharma Devotional. These were hosted by Rob Hoernschemeyer for Surgical and Emily Durbin for Pharma. What a blessing it was for those in attendance!
October 2015 Town Hall: An Interview with Rob Hoernschemeyer by Mike Lee
"During our October meeting, I had the privilege of interviewing our guest speaker, Rob Hoernschemeyer. Rob is a DM in Detroit for our Surgical division and was one of the founders of the Alcon Christian Fellowship (ACF). The ACF started 19 years ago with a few Surgical sales reps gathering together for fellowship, prayer, and a brief Bible study at the national sales meeting. In the nearly two decades since that humble beginning, the ACF distribution list has grown to include not only Surgical sales, but also many home office associates and attendance at the national meeting frequently exceeds 50."
Rob’s daughter, Emily, is one of the leaders of the Christian devotional at the Pharma sales meetings now.
Some of the key points from our interview with Rob:
- The importance of being grounded in God’s Word – we hear His voice most closely as we commit our hearts to His Word
- The importance of prayer – especially as we lift up the needs of one another and focus beyond ourselves
- The importance of being encouragers – particularly in these changing times at Alcon
Hebrews 3:13 (ESV) – “But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called ‘today,’ that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.”
A Night at the Movies
We held a movie night in Burleson (TX) to show the “Holy Ghost Reborn” documentary. We had 26 in attendance, so thanks to all who came out! We will continue to evaluate opportunities for movie showings when available as a way to network outside our formal meeting times. We’ll also see what might be done to link in C@W members outside of DFW for these events. Stay tuned!
First Friday Fellowship
The First Friday Fellowship was held on the Ft. Worth Campus in October, November and December at 7:00 AM. These are casual events where believers come together and share their stories, testimonials, and talk about local events. There is no planned agenda. It is a time to gather and meet with other believers here at Alcon.
If you are field based, and start you own First Friday Fellowship, let us know about it, and we’ll share that with the broader group.
It's a Christmas Party!
Christians@Work held our first annual CHRISTMAS Party on Tuesday December 8th. We celebrated the birth of Christ through fellowship with fellow Christian co-workers! Thanks to all who made it out!

Spread the Word
We need you!
Remember, our group can only grow when you tell someone about us. We've grown to XXX this year just by word of mouth! Keep telling your friends who may be interested in being apart of the Christians@Work network, so we can do more incredible things for Christ in 2016.
A great way to start a conversation is to wear the Christians@Work bracelet. They are available through Kimberly Wood at Kimberly-1.Wood@alcon.com for a donation of any amount. We’ll use these donations to fund our activities going forward into 2016.
Thank you . . . and see you in 2016!
Thanks to everyone who made our inaugural year a successful one. We're really looking forward to what the Lord will do through us at Alcon in 2016!
In Christ,
