Morning and Afternoon Reminders
As the weather is nicer throughout the day we would like to remind you of a couple of important things:
****In the morning there is no supervision before 7:25 a.m. so please do not drop off your students before then. We want all of our students to be safe!
****The playground is only to be used after 2:45 p.m (1:15 on Wednesdays).
Thank you for your cooperation!
Safety Patrol
FOR NEXT YEAR - WE'RE LOOKING FOR SAFETY PATROL - CROSSING GUARD MEMBERS.
For the month of May, we will be accepting applications from current 4th and 5th graders who would like to be on Safety Patrol next year. This is a great way for students to give back and serve our McBride Community. Applications were sent home last week, and extras are available in the office.

Art Literacy
This last round of Art Lit lessons were from Van Gogh. He's known to have said, "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." Kati Crouch brought this forward and she said it best.... "This is a Mustang quote if we've ever heard one." This can be our motto sentence after our theme TOGETHER.
TOGETHER.... Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.

Children's Mental Health Awareness Day - May 10th
May 10th is Children's Mental Health Awareness Day. To bring awareness to the importance of Children's Mental Health, Columbia Community Mental Health will be hosting an open house at our children's only facility, CCMH the Kid's Haven. The event will take place on May 10th from 5-7 pm. Community partners and families are invited. Some of the children's therapists from CCMH and GOBHI-WRAP will be at the Kid's Haven so community members can ask questions and become more comfortable with the importance of children's mental health. We will also provide snacks and offer tours of the facility. I've attached the flier below.
Last Day of School- EARLY RELEASE
TOGETHER - Mustang Award
Our Mustang theme this year is "Together". Let's continue the recognition and thank yous. Each week we've enjoyed sharing the recipients for the TOGETHER award. Recipients receive this award because of the spirit of togetherness they've demonstrated to help McBride continue to be strong. You may nominate staff from McBride, staff from St. Helens School District, parents from McBride, community members from McBride/St. Helens - anyone that demonstrates working 'together' to help McBride continue to be the incredible school and community that it is. You may pick up a "Together" nomination form in the office or email Mrs. Tyler (lisat@sthelens.k12.or.us).
This week's award recipients......
Miss Mary and Mrs. Douglass (1st grade & 4th grade teachers) - These two are nominated for their kindness. One day this week they had a colleague drop her lunch after heating it up. One helped clean it up and the other went and got her a new lunch. It's the little things that matter!
Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Reardon - (long term guest teachers) These two have brought so much joy to our building. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Reardon have supported Mrs. Stewart's and Mr. Peterson's classroom while they are on maternity and paternity leave. It is so wonderful to have such strong guest teachers in our building. Thank you.
Mrs. Kreafle - (2nd grade teacher) Mrs. Kreafle agreed to help a colleague when a personal emergency came up at the end of one of the school days. This is a great example of how our staff pull together when we need to be there for each other.
Mr. Hunt (McBride Math teacher) - Two days this week we needed a guest teacher in the classroom and Mr. Hunt was flexible and stepped up to be in the classroom who needed a teacher. Thank you, Mr. Hunt!
Miss B - (music teacher) Miss B auditioned over 70 students this week to fill multiple choirs she is planning to have next year. This is a great opportunity for our students. also.... Miss B is so great about supporting behavior and communicating with families. It is so helpful to have this reinforcement and relationship with Miss B. Thank you!
Mrs. Nelson - (librarian) WOW! What a great Book Fair this week! Thank you for all the extra time and energy it took to pull this off for our Mustangs.
