Approach to governing
Approach to Governing
King Louis XIV had an arrogant approach to governing the country, and the many wars he sent his people into near the end of his reign had many expenses. He wanted to strengthen both royal power and the army's power. He strengthened the crown by boosting revenue and crushing Protestants. Two policies he enacted to achieve these goals were revoking the Edict of Nantes (Which was basically "Don't ridicule the Protestants") and enacting the Richelieu policy (Which was the Get more Money policy).
