Sacrament of Reconciliation

Last night our Year 3 children celebrated their First Reconciliation. I wish to thank Father Stephen and Father Ruben for celebrating this sacrament with our students, and reminding them of the relationship they are building with God, through the act of forgiveness. I also wish to thank their class teachers Mrs Peach and Miss Buckingham for preparing the children so well. Thank you Mrs Dastlik for helping support the class teachers too. I also congratulate our parents on the support of their children on their Sacramental journey.

Prayer for Reconciliation

God, we believe that you have called us

together to broaden our experience of You and of each other.

We believe that we have been called to help in healing the many wounds of

society and in reconciling person to person and person to God.

Help us, as individuals and together,

to work in love, for peace, and never to lose heart.

We commit ourselves to each other – in joy and sorrow.

We commit ourselves to all who share

our belief in Reconciliation – to support and stand by them.

We commit ourselves to the way of peace – in thought and deed.

We commit ourselves to you – as our guide and friend.

Remembrance Day Service

Today our Year Four students engaged us with their Remembrance Day service by remembering those who died or suffered for Australia’s cause in all wars and conflicts observing one minute of silence at 11.00am. Thank you to the Year Four students, Mrs Main and Mr Plint for leading the service.

While we honour and pray for those who have fought to protect this land and bring peace, we also focus on the place of peace in our own hearts, families and communities. We also pray for peace in this troubled world in which we live. Jesus is our model for true peace and shows us how to be makers of peace. By his suffering and death and in his rising to glorious life, we celebrate the life of the world everlasting.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to

be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;

to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Prayers for the Faithful Departed

By tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates each month of the year to a certain devotion. In November, it is the Holy Souls. Praying for the dead, especially for those loved ones we have known, is a requirement of Christian charity. At school we will recall those loved ones who have passed away during our prayers throughout November. There will be a Book of Remembrance in the Church, in which you can write the names of those loved ones for whom families would like us to pray.

God Moments

Being present at Reconciliation observing the children talking to Father. A very special Sacrament!

School Logo

Over the last year and a half the Parent Advisory Council has been working with the school leadership, consultants and industry specialists to review St Luke’s historic marketing and branding elements. We conducted parent, teacher and student surveys and spoke to parish members to glean insight into the area. A marketing sub-committee of parents, P&F and school leadership synthesized the information and then engaged ImageSeven to construct a number of logos that would fit our community’s brief. ImageSeven are a national organisation who specialise in branding and have worked alongside many schools and tertiary institutions. Our intent was to honour our rich history, whilst also setting up St Luke’s for a new chapter of continued future success.

We have shortlisted the logo choices and are now at the stage of finalisation. We ask that you look over the three logos via the link below and select the one that you think is best suited for the future of St Luke's. Student voice will also be included in the discernment process.

The logo will be released to the community at the conclusion of the process.

We thank you in advance for your support.

2022 Class Representatives

In readying for a fantastic 2022 at St Luke’s, the P & F would like parents and caregivers to consider if they would like to step into the role of class representative for their child’s class next year. Each year group needs 2 people, and the role is a wonderful way to meet families of your child’s peers. No experience is needed! Please contact the P & F if you are interested or require more information

Playgroup is humming along, and we are really excited about all the people attending. If you have a child under 5 and would like to connect with other parents and carers from our school community, you are most welcome to come this Friday morning after drop off.
