Tiger Tracks Inside Edition
TRAVIS HIGH SCHOOL FACULTY NEWSLETTER March 16, 2020
A message from Mrs. Laberge:
Tigers,
I hope you are staying well and spending quality time with your loved ones. This morning, Child Nutrition served over 90 children breakfasts on our bus ramp- more than any other location in the district. Lunch time is already hoppin’ which is great!
You will receive emails from me as I get new information. Please see my notes from today’s update:
· Take care of yourself
· We do not know today when we will have kids back in our building.
· STAAR has been waived for this school year
· If you have questions about payroll, reach out to Talent Connection
· Online portal is available for registration but we will not be receiving parents for new enrollments until our schools re-open
· District will set up windows of time for staff to retrieve items they want.
· Reply to parent emails and keep up with regular emails. Although we are not at school, we are all being paid and we should continue to engage with the community.
· Be very careful with your email right now. We have a lot of phishing emails and ads that are coming in. Delete.
· Budget and hiring timelines will be delayed. We are no longer engaging in business as usual.
· We will postpone our Talent Draft
· We do not have an answer about summer school but we will in the next few weeks
· TTESS and TPESS is suspended at this time
· Posting report cards this Thursday? They will follow up with us on that.
· Bond projects- no delay and in fact it is enabling some of our contractors to get in and work more effectively
· Teachers who are contracted to write curriculum may continue to do so from home.
I will continue to keep you updated. Aside from the administrative team coming up to assist with the grab and go meals, everyone is working from home moving forward. Please reach out to department heads or administrators for assistance.
Dear Tiger Staffulty,
We hope you and your family are doing well. This is a surreal moment for us, but we are in it together. This is going to be the shortest newsletter to date, simply because so many decisions are in the process of being made. As many of you know, this is a "live" document. What that means is I can update this periodically throughout the week and the link that I send you via email will also update. Please do not save this one time on your phone or computer without refreshing. My original plan was to wait until our admin meeting tomorrow to send this out. I decided to continue the Sunday tradition, but will be updating this newsletter throughout the week. Please check back periodically for any updates to the plan moving forward. We will also send communication via email.
It is understandable that you have many questions and concerns. Please know we will update you regarding long term effects such as instruction, final exams, and senior events as we get information and guidance. Be well and stay safe.
We are One, We are Family, We are Tigers!
