A Message from our Principal...
Dear Jefferson Families,
It was absolutely fabulous that we were able to spend some quality time with one another last night on our first in-person family night in over two years! The 4th grade students sang boisterously and 5th graders demonstrated ukulele skills. Everyone showed off science and social studies projects in their classrooms. Our hallways were well-decorated with gorgeous student art pieces. It was wonderful to speak with moms, dad, grandparents and friends. I loved meeting younger siblings and getting reacquainted with older ones. Thank you all so very much for coming to Jefferson School again. Let’s hope we’re on a pathway to more open house events!
We are in the middle of state testing. Please remind your child to sleep enough and eat healthily. Let them know that they’ve learned a lot so they just need to do their best.
Everyday we strive to learn things that will help us do our jobs better. We strongly believe that we are partners with you in the education of your child and depend upon that collaboration. Please do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions.
Here’s to hoping all these April showers will bring beautiful May flowers!!!
Most sincerely,
Dr. Judy Floeter and Mrs. Tasha Rayas

Student Mental Health Days
Students ages 6 to 17 years old across Illinois can now take up to five excused mental health days per school year.
Parent must call the student to the main office (please make them aware that a mental health day is being used).
A mental health day is not the same as a sick day, and students do not need a doctor's note.
Students will have the opportunity to make up any missed work, and the missed day will not be used against the student's consideration for Cum Laude with attendance.
After a student takes two mental health days, school personnel will schedule a meeting with the student and parents to create a support plan.
