Valentine's Workshop at Parent Teacher Conferences

We are excited to announce that our PTA is offering a drop-in Valentine's workshop on the afternoon and evening of February 13th. Our hope is that your children will be engaged in a fun Valentine craft while you are able to focus on your parent/teacher conference(s).

International Night

We hope you enjoyed our International Night on Thursday, January 23rd. Thank you for joining us! We shared our unique heritage and travelled the world in a couple of hours.

Hearts Up: Special thanks to Mrs. Rizvi, Mr. Gibson, Sharanya Dance School, Teelin School of Irish Dance, our staff, country representatives and volunteers for creating this amazing event.

Congratulations to Finley Hinman for winning the Howard County PTA Reflections Program! Her entry, along with two others, will be sent to the Maryland PTA to be judged at the State level.

Artist’s Statement: This painting shows who I am and that I shine brightly to people around me. This goes with the theme “Look Within” because it’s describing who I am inside.

The Bushy Park Change Matters donation of $584.65 to Grassroots covered 6 hours of crisis services. This is what happened during that time:

January Book Collection

The PTA is collecting used children's books during the month of January. Drop-off your book donations in the plastic bins in the front lobby, before the end of the month.

A Night with the Stars - The Bushy Park School Dance

Join us on the red carpet Friday, March 6th, 6:30-8:30pm.

BPES students from Pre-K to 5th grade (only please) are invited to and may be escorted by a special adult to this magical evening.

Tickets are $8 per adult / $4 per child and available for purchase online at:

https://www.bushyparkpta.org/dance-2020. We are using PayPal to process electronic payment.

Don't have PayPal or would like to pay using cash or check? No problem. Please complete the printable registration form.

If you would like to participate, but are under financial constraints, please contact Mrs. Bialeski directly. Financial constraints will not limit your participation.

Please note:

  • Tickets are limited due to the Howard County Fire Code. Once we reach capacity for this event, we will no longer be able to sell tickets.
  • You will not receive a physical ticket. Please provide your last name at check-in.
  • There will be no tickets available at the door for anyone who did register in advance.

Volunteers Needed

Our dance committee chairs are looking for team leaders and volunteers to help create a magical evening for the kids. The volunteer opportunities are:

  • Concessions Leader (non-student)
  • Welcome Leader (non-student)
  • Photo Flow Leader (non-student)
  • Walk of Fame Leader (non-student)
  • Set-Up Team (10+)
  • Crafting Team (Pre-event needs)
  • Concessions Volunteers (4 at all times)
  • Check-In Volunteers (4 at all times)
  • Walk of Fame (2 at all times)
  • Security (2 at all times – floating by entrances & gym)
  • Clean-Up Team (10+)
  • Paparazzi (High School Volunteers

Any responsible middle and high school student who needs service hours are welcome to join the event team.

Calling all young scientists! The BPES Annual Science Fair is March 11, 2020!

It is time to prepare for the Annual Science Fair at Bushy Park Elementary School

Parents may register their child to participate in the Science Fair by completing the registration form online or the PDF below. The deadline to register is Monday, March 2nd. If you have any questions contact Chairwoman, Dina Goldman, at bushyparksciencefair@gmail.com.
