Sophomore Meetings

The OVHS counselors met with the Class of 2024 to conduct a Career Interest assessment and reflection activity. We also reviewed how to access PSAT scores and connect to SAT practice and discussed the upcoming Life After High School College and Career Fair 2021. Counselors handed out a 10th Grade Timeline that highlights key points students should be focused on as they transition to upperclassmen next year.

OVHS Life After High School College and Career Fair

On December 15th, 2021, the OVHS Counselors hosted 35 colleges, technical schools and military representatives, 9 local businesses, an OVSD alumni table and a mock interview station for our entire 10th and 11th grade classes. Every student had an opportunity to practice interviewing with a professional, speak one-on-one with representatives and check in with an Oley Grad about their recent experiences beyond high school.

Student Support Groups

Starting after the holiday break, we are looking to run various student support groups addressing issues such as stress management and teen issues. Groups will run once a week for eight weeks during the school day. Any student interested participating in these groups should speak with their counselor.

High School Course Selection Night

On January 27th, OVHS will be hosting the 22-23 Course Selection Night for all parents and students currently in 8th - 11th grades. This night is a great opportunity to hear from teachers and staff about the courses being offered next year. This event will be presented in a virtual format only. Please feel free to attend from the comfort of your home that evening.

End of Marking Period/Semester 1

The end of the Marking Period 2/Fall Semester is fast approaching. It is hard to believe the school year is almost half over. The marking period for 2nd Quarter/1st Semester ends on January 19.

Please keep in mind that there is still time to improve grades, if needed. Tutoring is available DAILY during Lynx period. After-School Tutoring is also available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Any student taking a on-line course should expect to receive a grade on this upcoming report card - this includes both semester and year-long courses.
