HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week 6 Friday 3 June
FROM MARK
Hi Everyone,
Saturday’s Confirmation Mass was really enjoyable and we congratulate the children on their reverence, and thank everyone involved in bringing them to this point in their lives.
The school photos went well this week. The children looked great! Thank you for the part you played in getting your children ready.
Kindy 2023 is fully subscribed, and Kindy 2024 interviews are well under way. To date we have 52 applications for Kindy 2024, with many new families showing a lot of interest in joining our community. Word of mouth brings so many people here, and for that we thank you very very much for your support.
We hope to see many of you at next Friday’s Year Four assembly.
Have a fantastic long weekend!
Mark

SOCIAL MEDIA - A CAUTIONARY TALE
You will be aware that school sanctioned social media with the school and class pages is popular and very well utilised.
Other social media avenues (e.g. whatsapp groups) are not sanctioned by our school. While it is not the school’s place to direct traffic on these other social media avenues, it is the school’s place to remind users of the following:
When inappropriate comments about children or staff are posted, we generally get to hear about them from parents who feel that the remarks are unhelpful or do not reflect what we stand for. Thankfully this doesn’t happen often! Nonetheless it is important to remember that, should there be an issue at school, it is important to seek information at source and not elsewhere. Most recently, one side of a story was shared and attracted a few responses. The story itself was not accurate, and people not present to it were sharing views on the incident.
This is not acceptable. The school’s code of conduct is breached, people are slighted, and it spreads misinformation. I appreciate that people let us know, but they shouldn’t have to if the correct channels are followed.
It is important to note that any commentary in the public domain be addressed mindfully and respectfully. To make Jesus real we need this to be the case. Thank you for your support!

This week we are asking ourselves to “Be brave. Make change” for National Reconciliation Week, and we are acknowledging that we need to be brave each day and take action for the benefit of all Australians.
Chess and year 5 Book Club is back! Students in years 4, 5 and 6 can sign up for the Senior Chess Tournament to start this term. Year 5 Book Club will also start before the holidays and I thank all the senior students for their enthusiasm to get involved! OUR P & F NEWS
Our End of terms plans out being changed up a little, to accomodate all the changes to events which have taken place this year. In partnership with the school the last day of term will look different and be a great series of celebrations! Don’t worry the Kindy Kids won’t be missing out - we have plans for them to get their cupcakes on Thursday.
Last day of term, Friday July 1:
- Casual Dress
- 9am - Mass
- 10am Bake Sale (cupcakes donated by parents guardians, distribution run by student leaders)
- 2pm disco (similar plans as for 2020 – discos in gym, Veritas, Undercover area – depending on the age of students from Pre-primary to Year Six) - instead of a night time disco next term.
- 3pm go home
Cost - $5 per child or $10 per family, covering:
- Donation to St Vincent De Paul Blanket Appeal ($1 per child)
- P&F - Contribution to Graduation, and to other P&F initiatives
The disco replaces the one initially planned for next term, and the bake sale is a different take on the one usually held at the end of the day. Our Year Six Students will be in charge of all the arrangements. It will be a big and excellent day for them – in fact for all of the children!
In week 8 Term 3 instead we will hold our Upper school Adventure playground thank you, opening and sausage sizzle & there will be music playing for the kids to dance to! More info on dates to come.
