Believe...Growth Mindset for Student Success!
Our School Vision
Knight Vision: To share in the commitment of rigorous and high quality instruction to meet the needs of every child.
Our 2017-2018 school theme “Believe...Growth Mindset for Student Success!” is directly aligned with our continued vision and instructional expectations for Knight: to share in the commitment of rigorous and high quality instruction to meet the needs of every child.
Instructional Focus:
*Implement the AKS (Common Mini-Lessons and Assessments)
*Implement Authentic Literacy (Purposeful Reading, Writing, and Discussion)
*Implement Effective Instruction (Workshop Model/Gradual Release)
Knight Mission: To provide a positive, stimulating, and secure environment that empowers the individual to grow socially, emotionally and intellectually in order to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.
Knight Belief: We believe all kids can learn…
…and we will establish high standards of learning that we expect all students to achieve. It is our job to create an environment in our classrooms that engages students in academic work that results in a high level of achievement. We are confident that with our support and help, students can master challenging curricula, and we expect them to do so. We are prepared to work collaboratively with colleagues, students and parents to achieve this shared educational purpose (DuFour, 1997a).
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR KNIGHT RIDERS!!!
Wow!!! What an amazing family fun evening!!! We are the Champions! Congratulations to our Knight Riders!
We are the Parkview Cluster Foundation Dodgeball Champions, raised the most money for the Change Challenge Award, and had the most fans supporting our Knight Riders to earn the School Challenge Award! Rachel Storey, thank you for being such a wonderful team leader! Rachel, you lead our team to set the bar high for other cluster schools next year (this will probably be a yearly event)! Thank you Knight Riders - Amanda Anderson, Jake Bova, Jennifer Brown, Ken deGeus, Chris Gordon, Kirsten Harper, Susan Lanier, Jennifer Morgan, Tyrone Murray, and Ryan Simpson - for dominating on the court! Thank you to all of our Knight family members who came out to support our awesome school and community! GEAUX KNIGHT!!!
And a HUGE thank you to Christine Christopher and Julie Wagner for making our awesome shirts! They were the BEST!
Proud to be your principal,
Toni
Highest Performing Reward School!!!
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) recently released the list of 2017-2018 Reward Schools. Knight Elementary has been named a Highest Performing Reward School! To be recognized as a Highest Performing School, a school ranks among the top 5% of all Title I schools in the State with the highest absolute performance over three years for the all-students group as measured by CCRPI. Congratulations to the Knight Elementary students, teachers, staff, parents and community for this recognition!
GMAS is Off to a Great Start!!!
Thanks for an excellent first week of testing! Our students are more confident than ever! Last week, they wrote their hearts out and I could see firsthand the fruits of your labor. We certainly owe it all to you – our teachers! Continue to encourage all of our stars throughout the remainder of the testing period and the semester! Encouragement goes a long way and often motivates students to rise to the occasion.

Happy Monday!
As we continue this week with our Milestones Testing, it's time to remind our kids to be respectful of others. The third through fifth graders have really appreciated the signs and kind notes! We want to continue that with focusing on the way we move through the hallway and how we're acting while we're in the cafeteria or specials. Please remind your students today to work hard to be role models in these areas to help continue the routine, even though today is a regular schedule day!
